My hair is pretty short and I want to grow it out by football season next year (I'm a cheerleader and I miss being able to have a ponytail and bow like everyone else haha). How long do you think it would be by then? Any tips for growing hair out? And do cold showers help hair grow? My hair is thick and naturally curly. I'd been straightening parts of my pixie to make it look nice but I now plan on laying of of the heat.

There's no miracle product or technique to make hair grow faster as hair growth is based on genetics however there are things you can do to help your hair grow to its fullest potential.

-use sulphate free shampoos
-use a hair mask at least once a week
-don't brush hair when wet
-use as little heat as possible
-use a heat protectant when you do use heat
-drink plenty of water and keep yourself healthy as well

I've grown out a pixie cut before but my hair naturally grows quickly so I don't have any other tips other than what I listed

Same as Alexis. Also you could look for any natural mask on youtube.

I've done this a few times... While Alexis' advice is great, would you also like to know some hairstyles you can do while you're in that awkward stage between pixie, shag and bob?
If so, I have a ton of fun and cool ideas so you don't get bored and cut it again!
(btw, if I don't reply here it's because I'm studying for exams, but you're more than welcome to contact me on my profile if you want to know and I haven't replied!)

My favorite styles for the "shaggy" length involve clips and bobby pins...
One I really love to do is to get lots and lots of mini claw clips and clip the hair in a heart shape with a center or side part so it looks like braids.
When your hair is long enough you can Dutch braid the front strands (go under instead of over, it'll hold better too) and pin them behind your ear.
Another great thing I like to do when I'm having a bad hair day (or week) is to use bandannas, scarves and turbans. Space buns are also a fun way to spice things up!
And with bobby pins you can do so many things. Twirl and pin, pin only the sides, do a rockabilly pompadour, anything really!
Finally, never underestimate the power of wax, pomade, gel and hairspray!
