So I want a little trial size of the Kat Von D liquid licks lipsticks in Lolita one and Lolita -. and upon application I wasn't really happy with the outcome. so I wanted to ask you ladies when wearing liquid lipsticks do you guys apply a lip liner how do you get it to look smooth and crisp I felt like it was just uneven. I don't want to take some back I want to get used to wearing liquid lip sticks but I'm just unsure with the application.

I have Lolita and I love it. I don't wear anything else with it and it works great for me.

I use a lip liner, but with her lipsticks I find I sometimes have to conceal the edges of my lips

I use Cargo's reverse lip liner with certain dark lipsticks, including Kat's, but any "nude" liner would work.
It leaves lips looking neat, yet full.

All my concern is before applying liquid lipstick is making sure I lip exfoliate before hand for a smooth surface. I don't use any other lipstick or lipliners before the liquid because it can interfere with the finish of the product. Amber I wouldn't worry about a complete smooth flat lip appearance if that is what your talking about, if so are you meaning like the pictures of everyone online wearing liquid lipstick that have no lip lines on the lips? I just want to understand what you mean. :)

Hi alma I mean I wasn't able to get a smooth edge applying the liquid lipstick to the perimeter of my lips it looks kind of choppy.

Oh I see now Thank you for explaining Amber. Have you tried using a clear lip pencil? (invisible lip liner) you apply it around your lips to help prevent bleed and jagged edges. :)

I fill in the inner part of my lips with the doe foot applicator and then grab a lip brush and move it to the edges to give myself more control. I still mess up at times though. if I'm not wearing a lot of foundation thats going to get messed up, I'll just wipe the edge with a makeup remover wipe before it dries down all the way. I know its tempting to stretch your lips when your applying it, but for me I find I get a smoother/better application if I relax my lips. Most of the time I won't wear a lipliner with my liquid lipsticks because it makes them transfer more. not all of them, but some of them don't like sitting on top of the emollients in lipliners, I'm trying really hard to think if my kat von ds are in that category or not. If I am wearing a full face and I don't want to take a makeup wipe to the edge, I use a concealer as close to my skin as I can to touch it up. it's really all about practice makes perfect though, and I'm sure you'll love it enough to get plenty of practice! lol

I've been wearing liquid lippies lately and I found that I need to exfoliate first I just use something simple and the elf one because is basically sugar and cost 3 dollars, so I do that as soon as I get out the shower once I've done that I use the Best Damn Lip Mask to moisturize my lips while I do my hair and make up and get dressed. So when I get to the lipstick park my lips and moisturized so if the lipstick is drying it won't be as much. The past few days I have also just put some face primer on my lips before the lipstick and I have liked the way it turned out.
