Hi beauties! I'm hoping for some good advice on something I am really struggling with. I'm 36 and my skin seems to be aging fast. (Or maybe I'm just noticing it and it's making me nuts). Anyway, I have many fine lines under my eyes. Anytime I wear eyeshadow under my lower lash line, it ends up mottled, runny, creasy, etc. so here is what I have already tried- Mehron under eye blur perfecter, A stick by Nars that's a little waxy, it's supposed to fill in lines and pores, a Physicians Formula product similar to the Nars, and eye primer in that area, all followed immediately by high quality setting powder. Nothing helps. Nada. I've had Botox and under eye filler before and it solved the problem immediately, but, bills ya know? Can anyone recommend something I haven't tried already? Thank you so much! 😊❤️

PS. I don't use all those products at once! Lol! Those are just different ones I've tried out.

I would focus less on fillers and more on an eye cream! I like philosophy jar of hope for eyes. I would probably go to Ulta or Sephora and get recommendations from the professionals

Thanks Julie! My dermatologist has given me some products (Lyterra, Retinol) but the Lyterra did nothing and I'm sure he wants the money for the procedures anyway. :(

I also feel silly for asking, I feel like as a promua I should know this stuff but I just don't. They didn't teach me this part in school! Keeps me humble, there's always room for improvement and you never can know it all. Learning is an ongoing process. I'm grateful I can come here for advice from you ladies!! ❤️❤️😊

I'm the same age and had the same concerns you are having. I really noticed a difference when I started using an eye cream every morning and nightly. I also use eye primer under my eyes when I use shadow there.

Hey, Kathryn! I was wondering what you meant for a sec by putting eyeshadow under your eye, but I'm guessing you're using it as a liner! :-) Ditto to all the women above...my under eye area is pretty much my only concern - I have a ritual I do every night and it most definitely includes moisturizing!! As your skin ages it's pretty much the saving grace!! I actually dab on a teeny tiny bit of coconut oil and Crisco (the all vegetable one is soy and palm oil) and then I use Boots No. 7 night time eye cream just before I go to bed. I have noticed a difference. DEFINITELY moisturize well in the AM, too, before you apply any makeup - it'll help "plump" up and hydrate your skin as well as aid your makeup in going on more smoothly!
As for makeup, I always do a pretty heavy wing and shadow on my upper lids, so I only stick to a very light coat of mascara with a nude pencil on the bottom.
And you're right -- how wonderful is it to share and read everyone else's advice and triumphs?? SUCH a wealth of information!! I know I've read things here that have steered me to some great finds and I'm eternally grateful!

Grace thank you! I do tend to get lazy sometimes about my nighttime routine!

Kat I'm so glad you mentioned coconut oil! I've been meaning to go get some, it seems to be all the rage now. I do use shadow under my lash line when doing a smokey eye, at times a bit more thick than just liner. It always looks so fab on my clients, but of course they're all mostly a lot younger than me! :(
Thank you for the advice!! I'm going to remember to grab that now! 😃👍👍

I'm going to say Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream for the win here. I'd pair it with Roc's Deep Wrinkle with Retinol. Also..Coconut Oil is great for the eye area as suggested for it is naturally antibacterial. Adding a C serum to your routine makes another difference..and Rosehip oil. Mario saved my dry eyes..including the lids. Now, they are hydrated and fresh.
