What methods are there to getting rid of pimples under the skin? I have two on my left cheek that I hope to get rid of by the end of this week since school is starting. They don't hurt and are just a bit red. I find that when I breakout on my cheeks, they take a few months to go away!! How can I diminish their appearance in just a few days? Thank you :)

You can use warm water on a cotton ball and salt on the pimple twice a day for a week for 4-5 minutes each time. Other than that, keep your face clean, moisturised, and oil free.

You can take a tooth paste contains saylic acid and take a q-tip then apply to the pimple. Make sure the tooth paste doesn't can't aim sodium sulfate which can irritate and burn the skin.

Don't use toothpaste. It's not meant for your skin, and can burn the skin, whether it has sodium sulfate or not. It's just going to irritate and can damage your skin several layers deep. The ingredients are safe for your teeth, not your skin.
Use an actual skin safe salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide treatment. Clean and clear makes a really cheap "invisible acne treatment" that has salicylic acid in it. I usually buy one every 6 months and it's like 4$. They also have a moisturizer with 3% in it, it's stronger but it is in moisturizer to combat the dryness. I only suggest using it on the pimples, so if you don't break out much the treatment is a much better option.

Don't use toothpaste, lemon, or baking soda on your skin.

I just got acne treatment face wash which is a salicyic acid treatment. White tooth paste has this as an active ingredient and the inactive ingredients aren't harmful to the skin. Check the brand and the ingredients to know what your putting on your face ((:

Toothpaste is awful don't use it! I Repeat, DON't DO IT! I had burns that left awful scars from using toothpaste for pimples. Lemons and baking soda are also terrible! Anyways, use a spot treatment, make sure your removing any makeup at the end of the day, and are washing with a nice gentle cleanser twice a day. Don't go crazy with exfoliating because that can just irritate your skin and make it worse. Advil Liquid Gels broken open and applied to the pimples can help reduce redness and swelling and Neosporin is also good to help it.💕

Again, toothpaste is not safe for skin. Salicylic acid isn't the only active ingredient, and it certainly isn't the only irritant. Salicylic acid percentages in toothpaste is often to harsh for the skin anyways, the average in toothpaste can be up to 30% according to the dentist society of Canada website, and in skincare the highest you can buy is 4% in Canada, and the highest prescription is 9%. For starters, menthol (mint) is EXTREMELY irritating to the skin, its why a lot of plumper lip glosses contain menthol, because it's an irritant so it causes the skin to swell, and on acne that can only make things sting and inflamed even more. A lot of toothpastes (even if they don't say whitening) have bleaching agents in them, or peroxide or baking soda. They are all horrid for the skin, and can cause extra sensitivity to the sun, causing sun damage and risking skin cancer, along with possible phototoxic reactions causing chemical like burns, discoloration, bruises etc.
Like I said above, just get a skin safe salicylic acid treatment instead of risking irreversibly skin damage and possibly exposing yourself to harmful rays from the sun even through sunblock. To me at least, the extra 4$ for something that has been tested on the skin, and has been formulated for the skin, rather than teeth (which is a completely different compound makeup) and not risking any of the above damages.

Sometimes I get the pimples under the skin too, but on me they make my face extremely sensitive at times. If it isn't bothering you I agree with the other ladies. If it is making your skin sensitive you can take a needle,(MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN IT BEFORE AND AFTER USE), and every once in a while, not every time there is one, poke a hole through the skin where the pimple is and gently push some of the gunk out. Then you can put the cleaning agent of choice. Only do this if you are completely fine with it as it does involve a sharp object near your face and should only be used as a last resort! Hope I helped.

We've had members here with burns and scars from toothpaste. I advise strongly against it.

Apply a hot towel on it and it will become a white head. I know people say not to pop it and that's true but you can pop it only when the pimple is completely white and not "new" if that makes sense. You can take an actually pimple popping tool or use two q tips. make sure to clean the area up and finish with a skin safe drying product, like 3% hydrogen peroxide or low percentage of alcohol or acv like emery mentioned. Try not to get these things on your normal skin
