Two or three years ago I used to have such long hair and because I use flat irons every day, the ends have dried out and broken off causing my hair to go really short at about shoulder length. is there any way I can restore my hold hair back and grow my hair without getting rid of my hair straighteners?

Since your hair is so damaged you really need to lay off the heat and get it back into a healthy condition before starting to use heat again.

What's your hair texture like? Knowing what it is will help others suggest products suited for your hair type.
What's your current hair care routine?
I suggest doing protein masks once a week and moisturizing masks.
I know you said you want to grow your hair out but are you willing to get a trim? Spilt ends will travel up the hair shaft and damage more length.

I have also caused a lot of damage to my hair due to straightening/curling/dying since I was 15. This is what I personally do:
-trim my hair every 6-10 weeks, helps with split ends traveling up the hair shaft & causing further damage
-weekly hair masks, I have used argan & coconut oil masks but there's plenty to choose from
-let my hair air dry as much as possible before I use any heating tools
-spray my hair with a leave-in treatment straight out the shower (damp hair helps absorb my treatment better)
-wash my hair every 2-3 days to avoid drying it out (b/c of this I also have to straighten my hair less often)
-& I also take daily vitamins, one of them being biotin & it helps with hair & nails
Hope that's helps a bit! :)

Tania L.'s suggestion of trimming is what I did. Added to this my hairdresser told me to get Pro Naturals, a hair repair system. Still use it following their regime, see on their website. I also recommend you use a professional quality hair straightener and I suggest you check out Karmin's Salon Series hair straightener, making sure that you always use a heat protectant before using the hair straightener.

Redkin Extreme Anti-Snap is great. Put this in damp hair. It restores proteins and lipids to your hair. It also protects against heat. I used this when my hi-lights were over-processed.

Hair breaks due to damage of broken single Sulfur Hydrogen Bonds. These bonds can be broken from chemical, thermal or even mechanical damage.(brushing etc) You can repair these bonds by using Olaplex. Olaplex reconnects these bonds permanently. Unlike a conditioner that will simply coat the hair, Olaplex repairs the structure internally. Conditioners act like a bandaid, while Olaplex acts as an antibiotic. Olaplex does not replace any of your favorite products, its simply a new tool to add to your beauty kit. As Olaplex is not designed as a leave in, or a conditioner, it is important to use the right tools to address protein and moisture following a treatment with Olaplex. Whether it be in salon for a stand alone treatment or with the take home No3.
