I have dry skin. A little oily in the summer (happens to all of us) and you guys recommended using a setting spray and powder. So I tried it today, and I used Lancôme powder, and it like made some spots on my face dry. So any suggestions for a good setting powder that won't do that!?
Thank you😘😘💕

I might be reading this wrong but did you use both a spray and a powder? I would stick to just one or the other and that's what might have caused the dry spots.

Ms. Jacqueline had once recommended a powder for dry skin, but I cannot recall. :(

I'm not sure, Talei. I had screenshot it since I don't use powder and wanted to try, but then it fell into the Abyss! I don't recall it being MAC though...now I'm going nuts..lol

What spray are you using? it's best to use a powder to use a powder to set the foundation & then a fixative spray to adhear everything in place.. here, maybe this will be a bit helpful. I just posted it for a girl who asked pretty much the same question:

Personally I have very dry skin, and I don't set with powder unless I have a very "slippery" foundation on. I just pick ones that set quick on their own. But if you need to, I'd recommend just setting your oily areas. I have used tartes loose powder and it didn't accentuate dry spots as well as mufe. I have only tried the little samples from sephora, because like I said I didn't even bother. I don't know if there is a good setting powder for dry skin, but I would like to know what ms Jacqueline recommended as sometimes new foundations do get slippery when trying them.

But recently I have gotten over wisdom teeth surgery, and I have been super red. I have very sensitive skin and it's already red, so last week I went and got about 50$ in redness reducing products from the drugstore, and elf has this anti redness powder. I tried it over my foundation, and it really reduced redness and didn't cake me up no matter how much I kept building (I wanted to see if it would).
My only complaint about it is that for some reason it has a pink block in it when it's supposed to be redness reducing, so it's fun trying to get the other colors without touching the pink lol. But even if you don't need redness correcting, I would check it out. The colors aren't vibrant enough to see them (I'm not sure about the pink since I don't use blush) but they do brighten me up quite a bit and definitely make me look more alive on early mornings.

Ahhh...thank you, Ms. Jacqueline. That was bouncing around in my brain. Talei also mentioned the care blend. I don't powder, but I do, once upon a moon use Mineral Veil with a fan brush and ever so light dusting if I have a little area to tend to. Much appreciated ladies. I bought the no-color powder, but have yet to crack it. I'm not a matte kind of gal and run dry, but I wish I could get samples of those to give them a whirl. Alyx, I'm so glad you are feeling better, but you've got the right spirit. Interesting about the ELF, indeed. Thanks to everyone that contributed for the great info, ladies. Hopefully Samantha will find all of this helpful. Psst...MUFE Mist is lovely.
