I've been using Clinique moisturizer for years. It's been an "ok" product to use but ready to spend a bit more for a better hydrating moisturizer. I've heard good things about the Bobbi Brown hydrating cream, but it's a bit pricey... Any suggestions?

CeraVe moisturizing cream.
I kid you not its the only thing that's been working for me ever since I've been using prescription retinal which made my skin super dry, caused peeling, slightly irritated.
This stuff doesn't feel like it would just sit on top of my skin like the Cetaphil moisturizing cream and actually made me feel moisturized and it isn't heavy feeling and my skin isn't dry or peeling anymore

I second CeraVe. All of their creams are super hydrating. I use retinol too, which is absolutely hell on dry skin and CeraVe is pretty much the only thing that keeps my skin supple and moisturized. Plus you cannot beat the price!
