Ok so I currently use Lorac Natural Performance Foundation (np 5) and love it! It's not too heavy but covers so well I have acne scars and red spots and it lasts me all day long! BUT it's $36 and I can't continue to spend that much. Does anyone know of anything comparable at a better price?

Have you tried BB creams yet? They're all the rave and figured it was too trendy to be true but I was wrong. I've tried the more expensive urban decay's version but I fell back into Garnier's version from a drugstore. It's great coverage (fuller than UD's) and is basically just a colored moisturizer. I use it in place of foundation now and just put a translucent powder over it.

Revlon Colorstay is a great lightweight foundation, and it's known for its full coverage

I have the same kind of skin. Lots of acne scars and little zits. I would advice getting a good concealer to go with a light foundation.
I use The Real Deal Concealer from Laura Geller. This stuff is AMAZING! I apply it to my trouble spots and then put Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam.
There's been a lot of criticism on the foam because its said not to do a lot of coverage but when Matched with the concealer it works like a dream because its light, goes on light and wet and dries matte. It's wonderful!
Also, the concealer is a little pricier ($22.00) but its extremely pigmented that all you need is a TINY bit and it lasts for months! I've had mine since November and its still not even close to a quarter emptier than when I bought it. And then the Airfoam is like $5.00 at Walmart.
Also, Chelsie's suggestion for BB cream might work too but if your skin is like mine (oily around the trouble spots) then it'll only leave you oily at the end of the day.
Hope this helped!

Ill try the bb but I already tried the maybelline nude air foam and it just doesn't last long enough for me.

Molli and Dennise,
Garnier's BB cream comes in a regular tube or there is one out now that is for comination to oily skin. It has a lighter/dryer texture than the regular so that might be better for your skin types. I own both and sometimes mix but if you have troubled oily spots that are frequent to zits, the combination to oily will be the only one you'll probably like.

I'm not really prone to zits anymore I'm just wanting something that will cover scars but I'm worried the cheaper stuff really is 'you get what you pay for'. I'm wiling to spend up to $20.

If you want something to cover up your scars bb cream will NOT cover that up its very light coverage. for you iwould use concealer for the spots you need iwould use cream not liquid nd make sure the concealer is a shade or 2 darker not too dark then try revlons or even a nyx foundation nd if you use powder set the foundation wit powder

Try using a corrective powder first..that is green based! It will cover up your red spots you have trouble with. (Because green cancels out red.) and I use ERA airbrush foundation. I have been using for 4 years now & I'm 20 years old and never break out! I absolutely love it. It sprays like hairspray but its so lightweight and it covers everything on your face its amazing. I won't use or reccomend anything else.

(I'm an esthetician & that is what I tell all my clients. Don't but liquid foundation!! It clogs your pores to easily..)

Revlon colorstay will make you break out like crazy. the airbrush is probably the best choice and once you have the machine you use very little makeup so it lasts a long time and makes spending the initial money worth it.
