Use a darker concealer a shade or two then put your foundation on.

You want a concealer one shade lighter than you foundation.
Thin, natural foundation.
Only apply concealer where you need it with a tiny pin point brush.
Thin layers of concealer, sandwiched between powder.

You should never conceal a shade lighter than foundation because lighter shades draw more attention to the problems area.
