I feel like I've tried everything! After my hair became healthy it just won't hold color! :( any suggestions on a good dye for stubborn hair?

Hi Alexis,
You may want to try dying your hair twice in a row. I know it sounds scary but using a low volume developer (10 vol) with a permanent dye you won't fry your hair but it should help. Also, when rinsing your dye, use cold water. When you use chemicals on your hair, it heats up, causing the cuticle to open. By using cold water to rinse, it closes the cuticle, thus locking in the color.
I hope this helps!

If the cuticle on your hair is too tight coloring it twice using 10 volume developer won't do anything at all. If it won't color the first time it still isn't going to the second time using the same stuff. Use at least 20 developer and if that still doesn't work and you think the color is worth it go up a volume until the color takes. But higher volume developer can be more damaging to the hair so be careful. I know someone whose hair absolutely will not color unless you use 40 volume peroxide developer.
