My under eye area always looks cakey/crepe-y when I use concealer there. I don't know what's wrong! Nothing I try makes it go on smooth, and I've tried several kinds. Is there anything I can do to make it better? Any good moisturizers that would help? I use one from no7 but it's just ok. I'd like to keep it drugstore too please. Thanks for the help :)

I've been doing the following:
Applying an extra layer of primer under my eyes
Using a tiny baby stippling brush that I found in a craft store to apply my concealer
Avoiding any powder
Setting my concealer by patting on setting spray with a fluffy eyeshadow brush

Try blending from the starting from outside and blending in towards your nose. That helps to not settle in fine lines.

Okay that came out weird. Try blending starting from the outside and blend inwards towards your nose.. Hope that make sense.

Use a primer under it... It will go on smooth and stay on smooth all day :)

Try blending in a gentle sweeping motion with a duo fiber stippling brush. I use this technique and my concealer looks flawless and just like skin every time. Hope that helped!

If you are putting your foundation under your eyes that's probably why. Or if the skin around your eye is really dry it could be settling on top instead of sinking in. Try and eye cream or an eye primer. My favorite eye primer is smashbax hydrating and Benefit has a great lightweight eye cream that goes great under makeup.

I don't wear a foundation, but sometimes I do like to wear the skin79 BB cream. I don't put it under my eyes because I heard that was bad somewhere.. Maybe I was making that up haha :) I have been looking at the Olay/ Cover Girl concealer, I'm glad to hear a positive review! I'll definitely give that a try! Also I will use a primer. I never even thought of using a primer on my under eyes! Duh!! Hahaha :) Thank you all for your awesome tips!!

I really am liking CoverFX's Camoflauge Concealer. It adjusts to my skin tone & you need so little that it doesn't cause any creasing or flaking. Rimmel's Match Perfection is good, Clinique's Line Smoothing Concealer is great also.
Also, do you use an eye cream throughout the day? I find that they work as sort of a primer for under eye makeup & keeps the product from moving/discoloring/creasing on me.

EVERYONE says to set under-eye concealer with powder, and personally, that never works for me. It always makes the area look so much worse for me by causing flakiness & making the area look recessed/flat which isn't what you want if you are looking to brighten the area..

Cameron I can't do powder under my eyes either but I do set my concealer... I use a very small fluffy eyeshadow brush to pay on some setting spray (very lightly) I use UD all nighter and it's been working out very well for me... It's definitely worth trying

I have the opposite problem...if I don't set it with powder I look a hot spanking cracked mess after 4 hours. I actually have to go thru several time consuming steps to get a flawless undereye area. First, a moisture rich eye cream, followed by corrector (prior to application I actually spritz my brush with water), after my corrector I wait a few moments before applying my concealer. Brush that on as well and then go thru the pat,pat motion with my ring finger. Wait a few moments and then I take a stippling brush that has a small head...spritz that with a little water and apply my powder. None of this is sitting on top of any skin with foundation. I make sure to avoid applying foundation around the eye area because it really makes a mess out of it. I stay crease free till I take it off at night.

Has anyone tried the tarte creaseless concealer? I picked up the little sample set today and can't wait to try it..

I use Fix+ or De-Slick by Urban Decay these days, but I don't feel it does much to my under eye area. I just use a eye cream and a decent concealer and it keeps the concealer in place/prevents creasing.
