What toners do you use? And what to you do to get/keep your hair bleach/white blonde!

I like to use loreal silver shampoo once a week to keep yellow tones at bay though it can dry your hair out

I havent used any toner, just purple/silver shampoo. It's taken almost two years of bleaching and toning with the shampoo, but I've finally gotten my ideal shade.

I've heard people rave about Manic Panic's purple toner for blondes but I'm really looking for something more high end and deffinitly strong, I'm looking for a color like this, and I think my next bleaching it will be pretty light like that! :)
Also for all of you who bleach, are you using powdered bleach? Is your hair really damaged?
Because I have two tips for blondes who bleach regularly to avoid damage, a protien filler saturated all over your hair before you bleach (even though you think it's pointless it helps the color to be even, and the bleach to not damage your hair as much) I also put it on again before or in toner whichever is easiest for you, and then about a week after I bleach I do protien treatments every other week and this has helped me SO MUCH! They also have a platinum purple protien filler/treatment that will help lighten/refresh your color too which is nice.
Also I use Ion's oil lightener, it's not a blue powdered bleach like most people use, it's white, you can use it with 20-40 developer, it works so fast, and is infused with argan oil so it never dries onto your hair (which when bleach dries and gets crunchy on your hair it's just damaging and breaking your hair fyi) nor do you have to use heat with this (which is EXTREMELY damaging during bleaching and you can even boil your hair with heat &bleach in foils if you're not careful- it's happened to me in a salon, for those people who think going to a salon is the answer) And all of this is just my personal opinion, and what really works for me that has helped me so much I figured I would share! :)

I used redkens 9v when I had platinum hair. I now use 9n mixed with a bit of either 9t or 9v.

We used Paul Mitchell's flash toner (the violet one, 2 minutes) after every touch up. I never toned between touch ups just used Paul Mitchell's Platinum Blonde Shampoo. I only shampooed my hair once or twice a week so I only used that shampoo. My blonde pretty much was always bright!

The best toner that I use if my client wants platinum white hair is, Redken -9v, 9t, 9b, and crystal clear. Mixed with processing solution.

My hair is a little less blonde and more silver though... but I use the toning shampoo and conditioner every time I wash my hair-which gives it that color, using it less would make it more blonde and less silvery
You can see the ends of my hair in this photo...

Ally, then please don't comment. I'm trying to talk to people about the products they use that works for them and what toners people have used that were sucessful to them. Sorry not trying to be rude but your comment is kinda pointless!

Alyicia, is that your hair in the picture? If so, it's gorgeous! Where do you get your redken toner? And why do you use all three of those? and what part to part solution do you use for those three?
Ave- thank you! What's the colors of those two? and where do you get them? I can't find any redken toners around me :(
Alyssa- I'm not a huge fan of Paul Mitchell, I don't really like their products because they haven't ever worked on my hair :(
Natalie- That's excactly what I used this last time (I think I posted the whole step by step above) but I've been using the Shiny Silver Purple shampoo and conditioner and fekkai color care shampoo and conditioner. I like to switch between the two because the purple one makes my hair more purple directly after bleaching it! But when I used the wella toner this last bleach last week I only put it on there for 12 mins and my really light white parts were purple and it didn't take out the brasiness/yellow out of my hair :( I was really not impressed at all. I think I may try toning it again with a different toner maybe more of one that deposits more color? I'm not sure, I'm going to keep doing more research!
Thanks everyone for helping :)

Yeah the purple shampoos will do that, definitely! I love having a violet look to my hair, so I often let that happen lol but switching between the two should definitely be better for the look you want, good thinking!
I haven't really used any other toners since this one works for me... don't fix it if it aint broke lol So I can't really help with other suggestions sorry =(
I do have much random spots and darker roots because my stylist didn't leave the bleach on for long enough last time I retouched the bleach, so it looked like a big yellow chunk then white... I put the toner on the darker/yellowy (root) areas first, then I go through and get the ends which are much lighter and it comes out MUCH more even. I do them in the same sitting, I just start with applying to dark areas-that may help you. And then maybe wash it out without the purple shampoos so the lighter parts get less violet... I'm not sure though, its all trial and error =/
I also leave my toner on for anywhere upwards of 45 minutes... I wait until it gets a nice frothy dark purple on my head and then rinse it out. I like my hair a little purple, so I usually wait longer and I don't really check on my hair. If you check on your hair 15 minutes in then in 5-10 minute intervals after that you won' have a purple problem. I have put it on for about 15 minutes and rinsed it out and saw no difference before, so now I wait about an hour on average. I also use 20 volume developer with it, I forget if they what you to use 10 or 20, but I use 20.

True - yeah the box says to use 20 but maybe that's the problem for me a 10 deposits more color? Idk not sure and maybe I didn't leave it on long enough- I heard sooo many horror stories of people having purple hair so I didn't leave it on past 15 mins. I think maybe I need to tone it twice or something I don't know?!! I've never had a problem with a toner before :( but that shampoo and conditioner smells so good and really does work! I was really suprised by the quality of those shampoo and conditioners.
I'm currently looking into Schwarzkopf and redken toners so if anyone has used either one let me know what exactly worked for you- product wise!
