If you feel like doing it then do it but it's really all about you. I don't think that length is too short comparing to like pixie cuts and stuff. But the better question is will you regret cutting it? Will you miss your long hair? If not, go for it.

I love it, I had my hair long and cut it short and after a while I regreted it so bad..I missed my long hair, so I bought extensions lol.. but I'm used to the short hair now.

A change is good. You never really know what you will feel like until the hair dresser cuts off a chunk but be adventurous and like you said your hair grows fast so go for it.
