instead think of it as... bringing attention too, also known as making them POP.
Try using a contrasting color lightly to line underneath your eyes about 3/4s of the way. Also there are TONS of tutorials on YouTube about eye enhancing colors, check out gossmakeup, its so informative, its almost too informative with a very extensive list... ;)

try golden colour, light gold and a dark brown with a brown liner as your eyes are a cold colour the warmer colours showed brighting them up. hope this helps! xx
