Loosening Curly Hair?

so I'm biracial (black&white) so my hair is very soft like my moms but its very curly and the curls are pretty tight (particularly in the back) and I was just wondering are there ways to loosen my curls naturally or at least without relaxer? its pretty damaged from heat tools, I used to use a curler to loosen them or just straighten my hair but now I'm trying to take really good care of it but still want looser curls.

also any tips for very frizzy hair?

don't use any shampoo and conditioner meant for curly hair, because that makes it curlier. try a relaxer
