I use a tiny paintbrush with either nail polish or acrylic paint. You can also try using a pencil (mechanical pencils are great) as the tool. Just something small to make the desired stripes/design. I'll try to add pictures later. =)

Thanks. I found out its easier to paint zebra using a thin paint brush and acrylic paint.

What I used was a Sally Henson art pen for mine. It was easier than using a normal brush. Hope it helps(:
