skin around your nose and mouth is particularly a sensitive area that can become more dry than the rest of your face, especially if you use face washes that arent gentle or you use acne medication on/or around that area. you shouldnt try to fix this problem by using another cosmetic item. you have to properly treat your skin and get it back to normal, and only then will the problem go away. i suggest applying hydrocortisone cream on the dry areas at least once or twice a day (morning, night). this will get your skin back to normal in just a couple days.

Hydrocortisone is drying isnt it?

Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid, which will actually cause skin thinning and can lead to further flaking. It should only be applied to areas of acute inflammation, not used routinely as a moisturizer.

You need to exfoliate all the dead skin away. I get this too, you just have to exfoliate that area better.

hydrocortisone is fine for skin. you only use it until your skin is repaired. this is coming from my dermatologist who advised me this when i was going through the same problem as Mish N.
