I use light oil free moisturizer on my face twice a day. Exfoliate regularly. When doing my makeup I have been using milk of magnesia as a primer and that works well depending on what foundation you use. For the past couple of days I have been using UD deslick spray before and after I do my makeup and that is working really well too. Use makeup products that are silicone free. Silicone is the enemy of oily skin.

A product I love that helps me tone the oil down is the acne treatment lotion from Philosophy's Clear Days Ahead line. I use it under my makeup or by itself and it hydrates, treats/prevents breakouts and mattifies too. Its pricey though.
But the Body Shop has a moisturizer made with tea tree oil that is similar. I don't use it too often because its a little TOO drying for me but you might like it. Urban Decay also has a line of mattifying/oil control products. Like their de-slick powder, de-slick in a tube and the setting spray.
But hydration is also a huge part of getting rid of oily skin. Usually your skin produces more oil because its dehydrated. So definitely don't skip moisturizer and make sure to drink plenty of water.
Also if you're looking for makeup that will stay on better with oily skin I would try some of Tarte's Amazonian Clay products. The clay in it is good for absorbing oil. I've been wanting to try it myself actually.
I hope some of these will help you out. Sorry for the lengthy response!! :)
