You mean the volume of developer you need? That depends on how much lighter you want to go. 40 vol. probably.
But if I were you, I would not dump straight bleach onto level 2 or 3 hair without going to a salon. You will most certainly hit orange, and getting past the orange stage without wrecking it is best left to professionals.

Don't do it! Go to your hairdressers. Pricier, but bleaching hair yourself is a nightmare.

Don't. I doubt you are using salon quality bleach (if its wella from Sally's it's not for on scalp application). Go to a salon. If you can't afford it, just leave it.

I agree with the others. Get thee to a salon. DO NOT try to do this yourself.

Hey hun hun as a hair stylist I totally agree with heather, it took me a while and plenty of toners to get from a light brown to a platinum blonde. You WILL go orange and is extremely hard to get the orange and brassy tones out of your hair yourself. My advice is not to do it yourself but look its your hair and if you do want to try I would not recommend anything higher than a 30Vol especially because it is impossible to go that light doing one bleaching process. You may need three or four and please don't use a 4
