Believe it or not, I've liked the look of the top portion of my head being more "full". Every time I try to tease, I feel like I am doing something wrong and feel like I am ruining my hair. Tips?

you can use a hairspray to assist.. I like helmet head by CHI. just spray a little at the root then lightly tease. make sure the hairspray is dry before you let the section down. then style. just don't brush through the tease. style lightly

I use a teasing brush instead of a comb. I find that I still get the volume without the horrific nests at the roots that I have to try and detangle later.

Backcombing shouldn't actually tangle the hair or be difficult to comb out! insert the brush, gently slide down towards scalp, remove brush by pulling it all the way out, not back up or down or whatever, just straight out then repeat. Do not leave the comb or brush inserted in the section of hair and just yank up and down! owie! :(

Buy got2b poweder'ful voumizing styling powder it works way better than hairspra and i think it does less damage on your hair...use teasing brush not the comb. Another thing you can do is get short layers :) also this volumizing powder can be found at drugstores i got mine at walgreens for $6.

Well I do have short layers at the top. Would a palm ade work as well? I literally just reconstructed my brittle hair last night and I'm not looking forward to having to get out a tease haha. Any suggestion other than the wave in the hair with a straightener? Like anything you can use without a heating applicant, or teasing.
