I would like to buy a high-end foundation, like Mac or Clinique or Smashbox, that won't look to cakey on my face. I have hormonal acne on my face and it needs full coverage. For some reason, most foundations ( even expensive ones ) tend to make my acne look VERY caked over and most of the time more obvious than it was in the first place.
I found that Revlon Colorstay doesn't do this. I love it but I want to buy a more expensive foundation that will last a lot longer than Revlon :/
I use Smashbox primer, but if there was something that worked better to help it smooth my face or keep the product on feel free to suggest it. :)
Please help!!

The makeup forever hd foundation is amazing on blemishes. It also has very blend-able pigmentation.

Try a few samples of different foundations then see which one is for you.

It sounds like you have dry skin. the only reason why it would look cakey is if you are applying too much or your skin is dry and the foundation leaves a matte finish. Opt for a dewy foundation. I heard the laura mercier is sooo good at coverage and so is the naked skin by urban decay. STAY AWAY FROM KAT VON D FOUNDATION. THIS FOUNDATION IS SOOOOOO THICK AND WIL ADD TO THE CAKEYNESS IF NOT APPLIED PROPERLY

I love Smashbox products for my face because it looks like skin, not makeup. I use their "healthy fx" foundation, it has antioxidants in it so its good for your skin, and it's hd so it gives a really nice coverage as well. I would recommend it since you already have their primer, as I like to keep my face makeup in correspondence. I have been using their primer, foundation, concealer and bronzer for quite awhile. I was actually at naimies yesterday restocking lol :)
