Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation

I was a Sephora quite a while ago and I decided to pick up a little “Sample” box that Tarte had released. This foundation came with the set. I was so excited to try it because at this time, I had very problematic skin and I could not find a foundation that gave me the results I wanted. I read many reviews that said that this foundation was truly full coverage and lasted all day and that it did not matter what skin type you have. I have to say that I disagree. I did not like this foundation and I really tried, and wanted, to like it. One thing I did like about this foundation was the colors. I was able to find my perfect match with this foundation. This is hard for me to do because I am naturally very pale and strangely, I have yellow/neutral undertones in my face. I also know that other people will be able to find their colors quite easily as well. I have combination skin and this foundation made my face look really shiny. I tried different powders and primers and the results were the same. I like demi matte and matte foundations so this disappointed me. However, that is usually not a deal breaker. If I like the coverage of a foundation, I will try to work with the finish of it. I do not think that people with oily skin would be able to use this foundation because of how dewy or glowy this foundation is. I also do not agree with the full coverage claim. I have never been able to achieve full coverage with this foundation. I tried applying with different brushes that I have, different cosmetic sponges, and even my fingers. I never got full coverage, which greatly disappointed me. Another downside is that this foundation is quite thick and feels very heavy on the skin. I tried it out first during the summer and it just felt like my skin was smothering under the makeup. I also tried it out during the winter and it was not much better.

I absolutely love this foundation. I have oily, sensitive, acne prone skin and have a really hard time finding a foundation that is just right. Even though this foundation has a thick consistency, I can wear it all day everyday without any skin flare ups. Also I am super fair and had no problem getting the right color match. This is defiantly a go to holy grail product for me.

I never had luck with foundation. It would set my face out and wouldn't even cover up blemishes. This is the best stuff. It makes your face so smooth and the color is perfect. I will never buy anything else...

I tried this about a year ago when I was using topical creams from the dermatologist which made my skin dry. It did not respond well at all! The foundation separated on my skin and emphasized the flakes. I stopped using the cream a couple of months ago and decided to give it another shot. Since then it's been great. Medium to heavy coverage and lasts for most of the day. It's my personal favorite right now but if you have dry skin it's probably not a good fit for you.

I have combination skin, and this certainly helped me out! It has a very natural looking finish, and you can add more if the coverage isn't enough for you. This is one of my favorite foundations, and Tarte is one of my favorite makeup brands.

Finally a real long lasting foundation! I have very oily/combination skin. This goes on beautifully over oil or dry patches in my opinion. It's mouse like texture leaves a satin, not quite matte, feel to the skin. It's breathable. I wore this for 9 hours and it still looked flawless. I did not have to touch up with setting the foundation with the pressed powder from Tarte. My skin didn't look shiny the whole time. Finally I can go crazy with the highlight! I also wore this for 13-14 hours, it still held just as great; it did start to settle into some of the dry parts of my skin. It was not noticeable unless looking up close. That happening AFTER 12 hours is amazing. My skin doesn't feel gross at the end of the day from wearing it. I'm in the second shade, ivory. I have very neutral toned pale skin. It can go with yellow or pink undertones depending on how strong it is. In the sun I can see that it's a tiny tad bit too pink. It's probably only noticeable to me! This goes on flawless full coverage with a stippling brush. It also is a great texture to sheer it down with moisturizer. I'm glad to pay about $40 for this because it works amazingly and you get almost 2 oz. Double the amount of any other high or low end foundations.

It looks/feels/works great! A little actually goes a long way with this product! I can't see needing more than a pea sized amount, and that's with a considerable amount of acne to cover! The color matches my skin perfectly and it gives a very natural and healthy looking finish that I'm loving! At this point im sure that I'll repurchase this product because I se absolutely no problems with it! I pair this foundation with tarte's light concealer and they go hand and hand together!

I was lighter (in winter) when I used this product but holy awesome! It covered very well and hid some little flaws. In fact, other than this product ans primer I didn't need anything else to cover imperfections. I really enjoy this product.

I love this foundation, i bought it the day it was released in my local ULTA store and i love the finish it gives my skin. The coverage it gives with the small amount of product that has to be used is phenominal. I also love that the product is formulated without harmful chemicals. This foundation leaves my skin flawless and beautiful. I will be repurchasing in the future.
