Beautiful Brush Set
I was so excited to receive my brush set and when they arrived, I was in awe of how beautiful the handles are and how soft the brushes felt. I did notice that one of the hairs on the powder brush was a lot longer than the rest of the brush hairs, so I (CAREFULLY!) had to cut it. I also noticed one errant hair poking out of the side of the cheek brush too, but I will see if the Brush Guard will fix it. Other than that, these are absolutely gorgeous brushes and my new favorites. I love Japanese brushes and own most of the Wayne Goss and Chikuhodo Z-Series as well as some Chikuhodo GSN and some Hakuhodos. I have to say the softness of these rival the Z-Series, and I was so surprised at how soft the goat/squirrel combination on the Powder Brush felt on my skin. I love the slight angled effect because I can use it as a powder brush and a bronzing brush. The goat really helps to pick up the color but the squirrel helps to distribute it for a more subtle effect. I also love the Cheek, its smaller and more delicate than my trusty Z-4, it would be great for a very pigmented blush. The Surratt-esque crease brush is so unique to my collection, and it deposits color in the crease very evenly and blends it out beautifully. Its also nice to use for inner corner highlights. The flat shader is also unique, I have many MAC 239's but I don't have a small flat shader in squirrel hair, so this was also nice for a more diffused, gentler application of eyeshadow. Finally, the tiny detail brush is actually one of my favorites from this line because it is so multi-purpose: eyeliner, concealer, lip liner, eyebrow, etc. Its a good one, not as soft as the others but that makes it more flexible in its use. I also loved the packaging that Beautylish used for these brushes, the Chikuhodo brush case is great for travelling and the personal touches with the handwritten notes are always so nice. Its so rare these days to purchase items from a company that makes you feel special and I really appreciate that! If there is another collaboration between Chikuhodo and Beautylish, I will definitely be purchasing that set as well!
Don't know what I'd do without this!
I've been using Bioderma for years now and having to buy it on Amazon or abroad. I literally start to panic a bit inside when I am low because I can't stand using anything else. I have very sensitive skin and this removes my makeup easily and gently without irritation. My skin looks better since I've been using it as well, I love it! I will usually take two cotton pads, soak them liberally with Bioderma and press them gently on my eyelids for at least 1-2 minutes, give them a gentle rub and all your makeup comes off. It works on waterproof mascara also, you just have to let the Bioderma soak in a bit longer. I then use 1-2 pads on my face. My skin always feels refreshed after, and the best part: no water on the sink and my clothes from the facial cleansers that require washing off. I love this stuff so much! There is a reason its so popular! :)
Amazing!
Everything about these cream eyeshadows is amazing! Pigmentation is incredible, you barely need a pinprick of this product to cover your eyes, they blend out to perfection, and they are bulletproof when they set. I've been wearing them this summer in the pool with splashing kids and they don't budge, I love it! I also have Marie Antoinette and its equally gorgeous. I prefer these cream shadows to the Tom Ford ones, which says a LOT b/c I'm obsessed with his products!
Gorgeous foundation if you like light coverage
This is a beautiful foundation, I love light coverage so this works very well on my skin. I like my freckles to show through my foundation, which this one does, and it also covers my redness. Yay! I am surprised at how much I love it, given how picky I can be with foundations! I used it with Wonder Glow which gives it a lovely dewy effect.
Really horrible quality, avoid!
This brush is such a disaster! The bristles are extremely hard and scratchy, when I washed the brush, it lost its shape completely. I am a brush lover so I take very good care of my brushes. Even with a BrushGuard, there was no hope. I'm honestly shocked that she can sell this for $49, it feels like a $2 brush, its horrible, horrible! I put it with my cheap Real Techniques brushes (which are MUCH better quality than this brush, I might add) and I also let my toddler play with it because its just basically useless for anything else. Avoid this one! If you want a nice brush for contouring and highlighting, the Wayne Goss 02 is an excellent, affordable choice, or the Chikuhodo Z-2 which is my holy grail for highlighting and/or precise application of powder.
Excellent eyeshadow duo
I received 210 Sugared Peach/Rust Brown Shimmer with my 2014 Lucky Bag, it is absolutely gorgeous. There is just enough shimmer to make it beautiful but its not so over the top that my hooded lids look puffy. Its a perfect nude eye look for a red lip too. I've received a lot of compliments on my makeup when I wear this duo. The longevity is great, I wore it for at leas 10-12 hours with no smudging and the color stayed vibrant. Highly recommend Kevyn Aucoin shadows, they are very underrated in my opinion.
My favorite foundation brush
This brush is incredible for my extra sensitive skin in wintertime, it blends beautifully and is soooo soft! I highly recommend it if you have sensitive skin or rosacea. I would wash it regularly though, I made the mistake of waiting too long (a couple weeks) and I've stained the bristles. But that's so minor that it doesn't affect how much I love this brush!!
The best cleanser!
This is a MUST have for me, I've been using it for years! Its so gentle to my sensitive skin and it removes all traces of makeup. Love, love, love this!
Perfect. So perfect!
Oh my goodness what can I say to express how wonderful these brushes are?? They are the softest goat hair brushes I've ever felt. They are pretty mucheap on par with squirrel in terms of softness. The handles are gorgeous and they come in a nice silver brush holder. The largest brush is good for powder or bronzer, the medium sized brush is nice for blush although it could also be used for powder, and the smallest brush can be used for eyeshadow or any other part of your face where you want precise application. They all work beautifully, I would say the eyeshadow brush is my favorite but they are all so perfect. I am definitely hooked on Chikuhodo brushes and these are some of their best.
Great bronzing brush
I really like this brush and I've used it everyday since I purchased it last year (2013). It works perfectly for bronzing my face, it gives a very natural finish and blends everything out perfectly. Its also affordable for the quality, which is something Wayne Goss delivers again and again. I would give it 5 stars apart but it sheds hair a lot, I am picking them off my face more often than I would like. But I can deal with that for such a good brush that I literally use every single day. Can't wait to see his 2014 Holiday brush!
