Best Kept Secret
LOVE LOVE LOVE! I use this product daily and a friend gifted me with, warm beige. When I want a super light highlight for my browbone that's what I use. And I was so happy about it that I went and bought the stick in Warm Cocoa.
Pros: affordable, long lasting, great for darker skin tones Cons: Hard to manipulate, transfers if not set properly, can look cakey.
GORGEOUS!
Moisturising, pigmented and cute too! I love to use this when I'm undecided about what shade to wear! I line my lips with a plum lip liner and BOOM! Instant glam!
Worth it!
These foundations are the bomb.com. Sweatproof, heat proof and long lasting. I used them on a model recently to conceal stretch marks, along with the concealer wheel. I also concealed her tattoo and the hyper pigmentation along her posterior. There is a variety of shades and you can even mix and match them.
Pros: lightweight, offer good coverage, easy to use whether in gun, on wedges or fingertips. Cons: none so far
Cheap eyeshadow, great colour payoff
We're limited here in Barbados when it comes to makeup brands. But we still have a lot of high to mid end options so when I bought this product it was to test myself and see how well I could manipulate cheap eyeshadow. The colours are pretty, the fall out is insane. I still have two of these palettes in my personal kit, I hardly ever use them, which is why I gave this an average rating.
Pros: bright summery colours, highly pigmented, good for beginners. Cons, tremendous fallout, ya hafta scrub to remove, if it drops in ya eye ya near blind for 3 seconds!
Pretty colours, staying power not there
I was really excited when one of the makeup stores here in Barbados offered the product. It costs $45ea and I tried Mistress. It''s a pretty colour but I def have to use a lip gloss to add shine and I found that it wore off really quickly. The Jamaica and Pool arty shades are comparable however to OCC Lip Tars if applied with a white base.
Pros: Lots of product, vibrant, variety of colours Cons: Wears off quickly, layering needed, a bit pricey
Moisturizing and smells delicious
Going to order more of these!! The sphere is so cute and mysterious looking that it always keeps people guessing and I was pleasantly surprised that the product lasted super long. Not only are my lips moisturised upon application, but they remain that way for about three hours, through, drinking, eating and constant talking!! Definitely a 4/5 in my book!
Good as a setting powder
One of THE best products Black Opal has to offer. I have it in every shade 9my personal shade is Dark - 04). I love the neutral light as an undereye setting powder, I've never used the Ben Nye Setting Powders, but I'm sure this runs a close second. Excellent price - retails here for about $25BDS and it lasts FOREVER. You will need to reapply after about 4-5 hours given our heat and humidity. Very light on the face and does not transfer if you use a setting spray. (used on Charmaine W, at her photoshoot)
Great for photography!
This is by far my favourite foundation. I use it on brides, models, makeover clients. It is quite thick so you only need a little. I find that the shades are very closely matched to most skin tones, although I still mix and match to create a custom shade for my clients. To tone down it's yellow cast (most of them carry yellow undertones, I guess cause it's theatre makeup), I use my black opal finishing powders to alleviate that. All in all, definitely worth the purchase! (See photo attached for example of foundation under prof. photog lights).
Excellent for all skin types!
Moisturizing, doesn't clog pores, absorbs quickly, helps foundation glide on smoothly. Adds a nice glow if just enhancing features. I received this in a kit after attending a makeup course and I have been using it sparingly, I never want to run out of it! GREAT PRODUCT!!
