Beauty Product Reviews

Tati was right!

I watched Tati's review on this then had to wait forever for it to be in stock. I'm glad I waited. I love this mascara. The brush is big, but not it's not unusable - and I have small eyes. I never use mascara on my bottom lashes so I can't say whether its a problem for that area. The formula doesn't seem to dry down too fast and I only had a couple of clumps which brushed right off with the next swipe. What I like is that it doesn't leave your lashes stiff, like other waterproof mascaras do. They stay soft and flexible.

I saw other reviews that the mascara didn't smudge but some said it flaked a bit throughout the day. I've worn it for about 5 hours in high humidity, and no smudges or flakes, but it did flake a lot when I was taking it off. But at that point, who cares? Great mascara overall!

Love this little brush!

I am a big fan of natural hair brushes, and have a lot of Hakuhodo in my collection, but I struggled to use certain foundations with their brushes. Specifically, shiseido synchro skin would streak terribly using any brush I tried, even a highly rated Sephora foundation brush. The only thing that worked was a sponge which I hate because they harbor germs. This little brush is a godsend! It makes thin, serum type foundations look beautiful!!! No streaks, gets the foundation into any problem areas (acne scars, which I have on my chin) and it's small enough to get around the nose and eyes. I'd recommend this to anyone!!

Perfect for contour/highlight or blush

Absolutely love this brush. Super soft and works perfectly for contouring and blush. Wayne is a genius....'nuff said!

Not full coverage

I was really disappointed from the moment I tried this. Other products I've tried from The Ordinary have been great. The packaging is nice, and I love pump bottles for foundation. But the product is less than stellar. I have a lot of pigmentation issues and I was surprised that a foundation describing itself as full coverage could be so lacking. I have a lot of pigmentation issues, but there are foundations out there that cover it, (Sheiseido, Makeup Forever, Laura Mercier). This didn't even come close and as I worked it into my skin it almost disappeared. It almost seemed more like a BB cream in its consistency. It was light, but not very pigmented and it almost seemed oily.

For the shade I chose, 1.1N, it was also very yellow.
