It's a Spa in a Bottle!
Indie Lee's moisturizing oil is simply fantastic! It's non greasy and super hydrating. The patchouli sandalwood scent smells like a spa in a bottle. It's warm, earthy scent is so relaxing. The oil provides a lovely healthy glow to your skin. I also apply a little to my hands and run my fingers through my hair for a little sheen. Love it! I can't stop smelling my hands and wrists. I will definitely try the other two scents.
It's okay, but...
This was my first Charlotte Tilbury product I purchased. I wanted to achieve soft, supple skin that glows like in the video. I was surprised at the considerable amount of product you get in the jar! It will last for months. The scent is lovely and texture is very light and emollient. This producr does a great job of removing make up. Be very careful when using it to remove eye makeup--it will cause painful burning. It is also good for hydrating arms and legs; however it does leave your skin feeling sticky until you wash it off. This is definitely a turn off in the summer!
Overall, I think the multi miracle glow creme a good product, but not a great product. You can achieve similar results with quality products that are less expensive. Boscia is a fantastic gentle make up remover as is Bioderma. Chaz Dean's WEN 6 - 13 intensive body treatment in lemon, rosemary, vanilla bean is excellent! Mix it with the treatment oil to get glowy skin that's not sticky. Josie Maran makes a whipped argan oil body butter in vanilla pear that is to die for.
The CT multi miracle glow creme is a glammed up expensive version of your mother's cold creme. It's nice, but I could live without it.
Foundation Perfection: KA Does it Again
Ok, I have raved about KA products in previous reviews, but this is ridiculous! I use and LOVE KA's Sensual Skin Enhancer and I thought that this product was truly the best foundation on the market...that is, until I tried the Sensual Skin Fluid Foundation. Is it possible to improve upon perfection? Apparently KA says it is.
My Beautylish Bestie, Mel sent me two samples to try for a color match -- 8.0 and the new 8.5. The 8.5 was just right! The first thing I noticed was the incredible scent--this stuff smells fantastic! Secondly, when applied, this foundation literally vanishes into your skin. It feels like silk and leaves you with this gorgeous look that's neither dewy or matte. Your skin looks airbrushed. It's nothing like anything I've ever used before! I did follow Jaqueline and Alisha's recommendation to properly prepare my skin. I used KA's Sensual Skin Developer to prime my skin after washing and exfoliating (NIA24), toning (Indie Lee) and moisturizing (Korres Roses 24 hour). I also used the Celestial Skin Liquid Highlighter before applying the foundation. The product has a loose, watery consistency. It's very light weight yet you only need a little for medium coverage. It provides excellent coverage that is buildable.
After the foundation set, my skin had this natural hydrated glow that lasted all day. Simply amazing. I can't quite articulate how uniquely wonderful this product is. If you're on the fence about trying it because of the price, request a sample and experience it before making the investment. It's worth every penny.
Oooh La La!
We would all agree that KA cosmetics are simply superior products. In fact, I don't think there is a KA product that I haven't loved - the matte bronzing veil is no different. This finely milled bronzer is not too dark or orangey, just a lovely warm sienna that provides a natural color to your cheeks.
I use this with KAs Sensual Skin Liquid Foundation (8.5), Celestial Skin Highlighter and Celestial Powder in Starlight. With these products I'm able to achieve a flawless finish with that 'glow from within' look we all love.
I highly recommend this product!
The Sakura Collection: Fancy!
Wow! Ladies (and Gents) the new Sakura Collection from Chikuhodo and Beautylish is simply gorgeous. The packaging alone is an experience! The staff put considerable thought into the presentation. The personalized note, the zippered Beautylish pouch and the black box tied with a black bow are details you just can't miss. Once opened, the brushes come individually wrapped. The brush handles feature a beautiful Asian inspired cherry blossom motif that is embossed with elegant iridescent spring colors.
Of the five brushes, the powder brush is my favorite. This slightly angled brush allows for even application of powder or blush. It also functions as a lovely finishing brush. The blush brush is smaller yet equally soft and makes for natural, fresh flawless face. The crease, eyeshadow and lip/liner brushes are also lovely; however, I would prefer that the eye shadow brush were a bit larger. The crease brush allows for precise application of product and shading. The eyeliner brush is great for tightling and can double as a lip liner.
The brushes fit in a plastic metalic grey fold over case that fastens with a velcro closure. The case isn't of high quality; however, I suspect that in order to keep the cost reasonable, a compromise was made. This isn't a deal breaker-it fine. It's just doesn't match the elegance of the brushes. The brush case does has enough space to hold additional brushes.
All in all, for the price, the Sakura Collection is a fantastic deal! The brushes are exceptionally soft and made of grey squirrel and goat. The brushes are of high quality--no shedding. The set is also the perfect size for traveling. Go for it!
Another Nude Favorite!
In a previous 5-star review of this product I raved about KAs lushious and creamy matte lip color. I tried 'Uninterrupted', but it was the wrong color match for me. I returned it and purchased 'Infinite'. I must share that this has become another nude favorite! This shade coupled with Armour's 'Diana' is FABULOUS! Just sayin'.
WOW!
I purchased the Indie Lee Toner and absolutely loved it and wrote a review. When it was time to order another bottle, I thought I would try the facial cleanser. Then I saw that you could buy the entire system. What intrigued me about the system was the Swiss Apple Facial Serum. Prior to learning about Indie Lee's products, I had been reading about the state-of-the-art stem cell research being done with this particular type of apple that has extraordinary anti-aging benefits. When I saw that this product was used in this system, I knew I had to try it.
The fist step, the brightening cleanser smells like strawberries! DIVINE. I used it with my Clarisonic brush and had a lovely aromatic facial cleansing experience. That was followed up with the COQ-10 toner which smells of ripe fresh mangoes and removes traces of dirt and restores the ph balance of your skin. Steps three and four, the swiss apple serum and squalane oil are fragrance free and leave your skin hydrated with a lovely glow. The final step, the calendula eye balm I used around my eyes and on my lips. After I had completed all the steps, my face was 'tingly' as if something fantastic had just happened. My skin was hydrated and glowing. I love it.
What I love about this line is that all of the products are natural. Further, you don't need to use a lot of product; the sizes are substantial and will last several months. I know the price seems a bit steep. Purchase it with the 3 month payment option. You'll be glad you did.
Amazing Matte Color
This is the second KA matte lip color I've purchased. It's creamy, hydrating and has staying power. It's a lovely pinkish nude--great for work or play. Coupled with KA's 'Vesuvian', it provides a sheer gloss. Another high quality product from Kevyn Aucoin.
High Quality, Great Color
I really love Inglot's pot lip colors so I thought I would try their lipsticks. This is probably one of THE BEST matte lipsticks I own. I would rate it along side any high end brand name lipsticks in terms of quality (Cle de Peu, Bobbi Brown, YSL) but for a fraction of the price. It's a GREAT buy. In addition, Inglot has over 100 shades of lip color to choose from!
The formula is super duper rich and hydrating. Love the inclusion of macadamia and avocado oil in this product. It's also long lasting and smells FANTASTIC! It's also versitile; if you want to switch up and add gloss, you can try Armour's lip color in 'Candy'. It's the perfect complement.
This color is a bit out of the box for me as I tend to gravitate toward warm hues, but so glad I did. It's a youthful spring/ summer shade. I'll definately be purchasing additional colors.
You Glow Girl!
Having tried a variety of powder highlighters (Hourglass, Cle de Peau) and bronzers with shimmer incorporated in the product (MAC, Laura Mercier), I found that they can be a little tricky to apply. If applied incorrectly, you can look too shimmery. What I was really after was creating an overall natural dewy glow to my skin.
So I checked in with my Beautylish Buddies Melanie C. and Jaqueline H. and they both recommended that I try Kevyn Aucoin's Celestial Skin Lightening Highlighter.
How To: I prime my skin with Kevyn's Skin Developer and then mix 1 pump of the Celestial Skin Lightening Highlighter with my everyday BB Cream (MAC, IT) or my medium to full coverage foundations (Kevyn Aucoin, Estee Lauder Double Wear, RCMA, MAC) and it works beautifully with all of these products. The end result is natural dewy skin that glows.
Please understand, I don't ever intend to stop using my powder highlighters. They are all fantastic! This is just another lovely option to include in your make up repertoire.
You just can't go wrong with KA products. They're exceptional. I highly recommend this product.
