08 Glossy- very unique shade!
08 Glossy is the only color I have from this line, and its the only polish I have from this particular line as well. (For the record, I've always been a fan of Sally Hansen polishes. I loved their colored metallic polishes when I was younger!) Its a rich, deep black with suspended mini red micro glitter particles hidden within it. When it catches sufficient light, especially sun light, you can see the hidden red particles and it casts a red gleam to the black base. IMO, this is a great shade in any polish collection because its so unique, and one of a kind. It has a two toned, not to mention vampy appeal. I wore it with slightly longer nails, filed more straight edge at the tip, and it looked classy and edgy. If you love dark nails, but don't want to rock pure black for any reason, this would be a good option. To my knowledge, its not around anymore, but it might be. I know its not on the BL database and I checked to see if it was on the actual Sally Hansen website and that line is not there, at the moment. So, you could easily find it elsewhere on the world wide web! I'm just glad I found this really cool shade, on a whim. It lasted about a week, give or take, and has great built in shine, without a top coat. I'll eventually get a top and base coat, at some point, but I'm not hunting as much because school has just started for me, and I won't be on BL as much. It comes in a cute bottle and the brush in thin, tapered and easy to manage- overall a great buy and at $6.49, its not too bad!
Need to use it more, good product
Let me preface this by saying I got this in a little mini-sampler kit EONS ago. As in early high school, so at least 5 or so years ago. I hadn't really used the kit at all, only here and there, mostly because the products had an all-natural oily feel, and I couldn't get past the texture. When I joined BL, I made it my quest to really give these babies a shot- even if that meant slathering the balms and salves on, before bed. In the past couple of months I started using the samples more than I ever did- but there are plenty more to go. I chucked the ones I rarely use in my MU rejects basket (which I delve into from time to time) and if I STILL can't get past the texture and they're not doing that much for me, I'll gift them or throw them away. I say throw away, only because I've had them for SO LONG, and they are not chock full of preservatives. I honestly don't mind using the samples when they're off though- I can't tell the difference, at least now.
Because the texture kinda bothered me, I have barely used it, except for winter when my hands are soo dry that my knuckles crack. I can get over the texture nowadays more if I slather this on as a night creme for the hands. When I got it so long ago, I never thought of doing that. I might also use this as a heavy duty facial moisturizer on certain spots- the base of my brow/nose/eye area, for quick spot touch ups. After neglecting the milk and honey body lotion for so long and finally using it, I want to try to use this puppy up, if not more. For a small sample there is plenty of product and a little does go a long way (if you can spread it enough!) I have always liked the rich, delicious smell and color of the product. It does feel waxy and a little greasy, but again, I'm gonna try and get used to it. I would recommend getting this in one of their samplers like I did, if you're not sure you'll like it, or get it full sized if greasy balms don't bother you. If you get really dry hands/skin in the winter, this is great for that. Its like a heavy duty balm that will lock in moisture, instead of instantly absorb. Anyhoo, this winter, this will probably come in handy! (Pun intended! :D)
Unique and fun

I used the milk and honey from time to time, but then started using the cute little sample bottle more until I finished it. You need to shake it to re-mix the separated oils. I liked the creamy, luscious texture and off white color, and of course the smell. It almost was like a delish pudding! Texture wise, it might have been a little off putting because of the natural oils but I stuck it out and finished the sample. I'm not sure I would get it again, but I will say it is GREAT for winter, or anyone with dry skin. The natural oils really lock in moisture, when you need it most. In winter my hands get so dry they sometimes crack, my boobs/body itches like crazy, my legs are flaky and I'm just super dry and parched. This kind of product really helps that. So, I'll probably get it at some point for nostalgia's sake. I would say this was one of the better samples in my sampler kit, too.
Great brand, great brush
I got this brush along with a few others from her Kashuk Tools and Core Tools lines. I was directed to them by my makeup teacher when I was doing a makeup artistry class last summer at my nearest beauty school. I have her Core Tools concealer brush, Core Tools foundation brush and two brushes from the Kashuk Tools line- the brush I'm reviewing and another one not on her site- it has the same signature, ergonomical handle as the others in that line, with her signature engraved on the ferrule, but it has a thick, short, domed bundle of multicolored bristles. It has many uses too. When I first started using the small multi- purpose brush, I was only using it in my kit along side my Sorme brushes, not on my self to play with, and only for blending eye shadows. When I recently found it on the BL database and read the description, I felt like a dummy- how come I didn't find other creative uses for it? But instead I felt a leap of excitement, there's more to this brush than meets the eye (as well as the similar tufted top one!). I could easily see this brush as a fine tuned multi-tasker- navigating around nose creases to powder concealer, or to set under eye concealer. Since its so domed and tapered at the top, this could add a lovely, soft crease shade for a nude/natural eye look. I could maybe use this for brows, too. I'm sure I would have found uses for it on my own, but I also had all but forgotten my SK brushes in my Sorme kit- because I haven't been doing MU on other people, other than myself- I know I'm bad. So I dug my Sorme and SK brushes out, organized them beautifully in baby food jars, and voila! I can fully play and experiment with ALL my brushes. Its times like these I am so grateful this site exists- its full of cheat sheets and tips and tricks, so I know what this brush is capable of, even before I experiment with it. I love the handles and her cute, hidden signature. I used the brush with the thicker bundle as an all-over/one color shadow sweeper brush, but I'm sure I could find more uses. Both would be great for precise contour/highlighting/eye area highlighting with ultimate control, and who knows what else!
Pretty good, should have gotten another color
I got this maybe last year, and thought the cardboard tube it came in was the actual size of the product- like a chubby stick. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't but got over it. The packaging/design/colors are cute- I like that they differentiated between this kind of product and their shimmers and balms. I got Tiger Lily, but realized I might have liked a different hue because this was more warm toned on my lips, and I have cooler undertones. So, I cast if off to the top shelves of my train case to use on potential future clients. I just tried it on again, after neglecting it for so long, and realized its still lightly tinted enough to not lean tooo warm for me. Of course I knew, then and now, that I could doctor this if I want, to get a more perfect color. I just feel silly that I let such a little factor deter me from enjoying the product. But you know how it is when you're not feeling a perfectly good product. Don't ya? ;) Product wise this is a great example of a tinted lip balm. Its super shiny on lips and leaves a great tint of color. Tiger Lilly would look amazing on medium-warm skin tones, I think, giving a "my lips but better" vibe. It feels very silky on the lips, has an interesting scent, and swatches well, a sort of salmon/coral hue. I like when a swatch is relatively vibrant because it lets you know if it will be pigmented enough on your lips (just a little trick that works for me, not on everyone, of course). This is almost the same color of another lip product that was a little warm on me- Palladio's herbal lip slix, in creme cocoa. Because the color turned me off initially I wasn't too eager to get other colors, and they aren't the cheapest, as is usual with Burt's stuff. If I can motivate myself to get excited about it more, I can fuss with it, but in any event, its a great product, shade issues aside. If these were on sale, I might snatch the other shades I KNOW would work on me, and If I'm "bad" I'll get a few, or at least one, at some point, anyway.
Great sample size
I got this as a sample from Macy's and was astounded at how generous the sample was. This little one will last quite awhile, especially in rotation with my other MU removers. I think the package is cute, elegant and makes you feel clean. I like the two layers of liquid suspended in the chamber, and I must admit its fun to shake it up, so it gets all bubbly! I'm pretty sure this is not oil free- it feels greasy and leaves my eyes a little blurry- kinda like when I used Baby Oil as a makeup remover back before I knew about other options. It leaves the eyes bleary for only a few minutes (unlike Baby Oil) but I think Estee Lauder's Gentle Eye Makeup Remover is even better when it comes to oil-free eyes. I was gonna bash this guy, solely on that minute detail, but thought better after just using it and realizing the sensation went away rather quickly. I also might be using too much on a cotton pad. I'm not a huge fan of mineral oil products but this one is really great. Great for touching up MU and fixing mistakes with a q tip, or taking off a ton of stuff- like I did just now! I'm super grateful I got a free sample because I'm not sure I would have gotten this on my own, but at least I know this is a great MU remover!
Generous sample of a nice product- but heavy floral scent
I got a sample of this when I took a gander around Macy's a few weeks ago. I was shocked at how generous the counter lady was- practically pelting me with samples that seemed more full-sized than anything you could call mini! This sample was 0.5 OZ. but that seems like a pretty decent amount. The packaging is so sophisticated, and glamorous, with a golden bronze cap with flower embossed logo on the top, and lovely lettering throughout the sturdy glass tub and cap. The creme is very thick, opaque and white in color. The fragrance was a little overwhelming at first, but I've since gotten used to it. Its a heavy floral scent, so keep that in mind. This might not be a product to splurge on, especially if you're sensitive to heavy perfumes. It leaves a subtle sheen/shine to the skin with some lingering perfume. I like that this has such a high SPF, but I'm not certain I would rely solely on this for facial sun protection. I think this would make a good MU base/primer because its so silky smooth and has that added SPF benefit, but I would add an even higher SPF product over this, if you're gonna be out in the sun, barefaced. This sinks into the skin very nicely, I love the texture and feel- its so creamy, rich and thick- but not too heavy or balmy. See if you can get a sample to really know how you feel about it- my sample will last me a good while. I'm glad I went to Macy's- without even purchasing anything from any other surrounding makeup counters!
Interesting creme
I got a round, circular packet sample of this on my last Sephora trip. I love that they load you up with samples- I still have so many to use! I still have a few more uses of this sample but figured I'd review this even before I finished it up. The first time I put this on was at night, after cleansing. It has that all-natural smell, which I don't always enjoy, honestly. Smells a little like Burt's Bees Peach and Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub. So that was a little off-putting but I got used to it/don't mind that much. I might have used too much the first time, but even with a regular amount, this sort of sits on the skin surface to lock in moisture. Even after having this on as a day cream I can still feel it and smell it on my skin's surface. I like when a moisturizer sinks into my skin, so this felt a little weird. But, as a night creme, you're not really aware of it on your skin. I kinda like that it has that balm-like, thick texture. I also like to use this in spots of my face that need some more TLC and extra moisture. My brows and inner eye area get very flaky so I like packing this on in that area, night or day. I haven't noticed any anti-aging benefits because I have no signs of aging right now, so can't comment on that. I like that the sample lasted a few weeks and that it was easy enough to squeeze out of the packet and even easier to depot into my Lancome Benefait Multi-Vital SPF 30 Sunscreen sample jar. I deposited it into the jar's lip so it wouldn't interfere with the creme below. Its easy to decipher from the product below because of its thicker texture and more ivory color. Would I buy this again? Probably not, but I am glad I got the opportunity to try it- it is a very unique product. I also have been dying to try a Korres product, so this was a great way to get to test-drive something from their brand.
Nice creamy cleanser
My bf's mom gave me this semi-recently, and I decided to unearth it from a drawer and include it in my skincare routine/rotation of products I store in a basket near the sink. When I got it, it was used up a little, but not that much- so practically a full free cleanser! I like the packaging, but with all my squeezey tube products, I store them upside down so when I go to use it the product doesn't spill out more than the desired amount. I like the modern design- its pretty, and its nice to be able to read the ingredients quickly and easily. The perfume is very nice- sort of soothing and pretty, and not at all overwhelming. The consistency is that of a body or face lotion- white and creamy. You don't need much to work it up to a lather. I didn't notice any tightness or irritation, so that's a plus. My bf even likes using this as a night cleanser, apparently :) I can't vouch for the anti-aging benefits yet because I don't have wrinkles and I don't use this all the time. I'm not strictly anti-aging but I do think taking care of my skin to maintain its health and beauty is important, and starting young is just fine with me. I don't use it with the other skincare items in this particular line, like the tube suggests, but it fits in fine with my other products. I'm not sure of the price of this, and I don't know if I would repurchase but its a nice change to the routine and my bf also seems to like it!
Really Good and Really Cheap!
I have Bijou Blue (443D) and Caribbean Frost (446C). I got these way before I was on Beautylish, way before I even knew how cool these little guys are. After learning they were on the site, I looked at my polish collection- and there they were! So I finally tried them out, after they had been sitting in my nail polish container for eons- and I like them! Bijou Blue I chose for my toes- its a bright, shimmery blue- almost metallic. It looks gorgeous on, and has lasted for at least a week or maybe less. By a week's time I noticed some chipping at the edge of my nails and the tips. It took maybe two coats because these need some time to be worked up to opacity, they are iridescent and might need layers. It didn't take long to dry and the brush made for easy application. I chose a color not on the database that I had also purchased with Bijou awhile back- Caribbean Frost- for my finger nails. In the bottle this seemed more teal, but once worn, it shone a beautiful green-blue, almost frosty green alpine. Such a gorgeous color! It seemed more opaque than the toe shade but got some bumps (air bubbles?). After a week or more it flaked off at the edges and tips. They both shine brilliantly and have relatively good staying power, for lacking a base and top coat (Not there yet). I was so taken by them I found a bunch others at my fave Rite Aid for 99 cents- so I snagged Casting Call (462), Blue Moon (466), and Rain Check (464). Casting Call is a beige, warm dusky rose, Blue Moon is a blue-black ultramarine navy with a hidden blue green shimmer and Rain Check is grey-blue lilac with a milky, moonstone/opal shimmer. They are so beautiful- I tend to dress in muted, desaturated colors of teal, navy, purples and browns and warm earth tones and they fit my favored color palette. These are great back to school colors that will go with any outfit! And if these are as good as the others ones I'm in luck. I don't mind that they might chip a little earlier than usual- it just means I get to wear the next coolest shade! These three are so unique and beautiful!
