Beauty Product Reviews

My favorite powder foundation, by far.

I've been using this foundation for years! I've tried others -- from MAC to drugstore brands -- and always come back to this. I love it's translucency, because it has just the slightest tint of color. Whenever I'm in a rush, I use this foundation by itself and it works fine (making my skin matte and evening out my tone)... but I normally apply it over liquid foundation. It comes with a sponge applicator, but I prefer using brushes.

This is one of the only Pola products I have as of right now, but I'm totally obsessed with it! I am dying to get more skin care and cosmetics from Pola, but they are really hard to come across. Everything from this brand is pretty pricey, but 100% worth it!

Love the colors, hate the texture.

The colors give a nice tint. They are pretty opaque as far as lipglosses go, but not horrible. There is one factor that really affects this product's wearability... Sticky, sticky, sticky. That's all I have to say.

Sounds good in theory.

Maybelline had a good idea when they came out with the mousse foundations and blushes, but it they didn't execute it well. Application of the blush is a pain, the color settles, it looks a little oily on the skin, and feels heavy. The only place where it is appropriate to wear blush with this much glitter is at a rave.... ew!

No reviews?!?!

I am in love with these tweezers. I have a weird obsession with eyebrows and have tested many different tweezers out there, and these are by far the best. A little pricey, but well worth it.

The point freaks most people out, but I personally like it. Pointed tips are more precise and easier to work with than the slanted tip variety.

My only complaint is that the tips can get unaligned if you carry it in your purse (which I do), but you can mail them in to get them sharpened and realigned for around $5 rather than spending another $20-$25 buying another pair. I bought mine a long time ago, and I've been told that since then, they come with at-home sharpeners now so you don't have to send them in anymore.

Hated it.

Tried it once, never again. Very, very messy. It goes on extremely splotchy, to which the only solution is to cake more on. I hate pastry-face. If you do use it, don't use the bareMinerals brushes. You might as well use sandpaper. I think the "glowing skin" they claim to give you is mostly irritation from their brushes.

Save your money.

I was looking for a cheaper alternative to high end brands of foundation and thought I'd try this out after reading several good reviews. Horrible mistake!

Let's start off with the texture... it is too cakey and does not blend well at all. It dries on your skin during application, so trying to blend it out just makes it look streaky. The color selection is not the greatest. And when they say "ColorStay," they mean it! This would not come off of my face! Washing, make-up remover, moisturizer, nothing... I ended up having to rub it off until it peeled off in big flakes. I can only imagine how bad that must have been for my skin!

Needless to say, I returned the product the same day.

I love, love, love China Glaze nail polish. I've really wanted the beautiful matte For Audrey for a long time, just never got around to buying it. Boo! I got it yesterday and I'm really disappointed at how much teal/turquoise there is in it. My favorites have got to be Black Diamond and Avalanche, even if they are more shimmery than I tend to go for.
