Beauty Product Reviews
love, Love, LOVE!
Let's just get down to it. The good thing about this lipstick is that it is very pigmented, goes on smoothly, and looks great on the lips. The best part about it is, it is super affordable! The price can range from ~$6-$8, depending where you go. I am in love with heavenly. The name practically describes itself! The not so great things about this lipstick is that it is not very moisturizing. However, it is not drying either. It just doesn't really do anything for your lips but make a good accessory. This lipstick kind of has a lip-tinting effect as well, but that is one of the things I like about it while others may not. The color selection for this is not the greatest in my opinion. I can do without the shimmery ones. I also find that some of the colors are too similar with one another, so although there's a lot to choose from, it is very limited compared to other lipsticks. They do have the essential nudes, pinks, and reds nonetheless. As far as the wear, it is just as average as any other lipstick. I would give it a 3 hour maximum for looking good still (without eating or doing much with your lips). After that, it will wear off leaving a tint and it wears off just as bad as most lipsticks. There will be undesirable residue in the inner part of your lips and it will fade. Even so, bottom line, I still love this lipstick and I will be purchasing more. I highly recommend it!
LOVED IT, THEN HATED IT!
When I first bought this brush I was in love with it! It was only $3 from Target, I heard great reviews, so I wanted to try it. The bristles are super soft, you really can't find anything like it. As far as helping your powder, I'd say it's the cheapest drugstore brush that'll do somewhat of a decent job. It won't necessarily give you even coverage though because sometimes, especially during humid weather or if you're oily like me, it'll clump up your foundation and powder, so I wouldn't use this to touch up. The worst part about this is the construction. I bought one of these brushes and the handle broke off after I washed it, and I didn't even get the crucial part where it's glued on wet. Not only did this happen once, it happened twice! What good is a brush if you can't really wash it? Talk about unhygienic! I would rather invest in a more expensive brush than this, and I advise you to do the same!
NOT MY CUP OF TEA.
I usually have a definite opinion on all the products I've tried. This on the other hand, I am not yet sure of, regardless of having tried it out numerous times. I don't like it, I don't hate it, it depends on the day. Some days this product will be just what I need, other days I feel like I don't know what happened to my face! Here are some pros and cons I find with it:
*What I like* - It is affordable - You only need A LITTLE at a time, so it lasts you a long time (and I mean a LONG time) - Great coverage - Useful packaging
*What I don't like* - There's only 3 colors (light, medium, dark) - I got the medium and it is definitely on the cooler tone. Some people say it has a yellow undertone, but I think it's more on the grey side. - It is cakey - It creases like nobody's business
Overall, I wouldn't really recommend this product. If you want to try it, I say why not, but it works for some, but won't for others. Even on me, some days it'll look fine, others it won't. It all depends on how your skin reacts to it.
LOVE THIS STUFF!
I love carmex. It is the only lip ointment I use. I find that my lips are sensitive to certain lip products such as chapstick and I would have an allergic reaction to them. Carmex on the other hand, works great with my lips. It keeps them nice an succulent. Some cons that people may point out is that it is glossy, the original smell is not very desirable (but good thing they have a cherry one!), and it will leave white residue around your mouth often times. I just power through the cons because I just love this product so much! This is one of my must have items in my bag. I really recommend this if you have chapped lips that you want to cure quickly.
PRETTY DARN GOOD.
This cleanser is not the best at treating wrinkles, but it is a pretty good daily cleanser. It removes the dirt and oil from the face, which is a plus, and has the most gentle microbeads. I love using this once a day, because it makes my face smooth. I also love it because it doesn't break me out. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend.
NOT A FRIENDLY PRODUCT FOR ALL !
I love Olay products, but this one was a total miss for me. I trust Olay because I found that most of the face products really did show results, but not this one. Initially, I loved it, but as time went on, the cons outweighed the pros.
What I liked about it: - nice fragrance - leaves skin soft (for the first two days) - improved packaging (not your regular squeeze tube, the hole has kind of an anti-leak defense)
What I DON'T like about it: - it has salicylic acid, which is good for people whose face cooperates with the stuff, but it can be harsh as a daily cleanser for people who has sensitive, acne prone skin. (I personally broke out badly after 2 weeks of continually using this product, and cleared up when i stopped using it) - can be drying after continuous use - skin seems worse after using it everyday - pores do not appear smaller
..BOTTOM LINE: * I would not recommend this product for everyone. It may work for some, but not all. I'd rather stick to my olay definity pore scrub.
TOO MUCH CLUMPING.
There are more things to hate than to love with this mascara. The good thing about it is yes, it does give that appearance of thicker, longer lashes, but at an expense. To achieve the falsies look with this mascara, it clumps together, which is also its con. The formula is very clumpy and flaky, so I am not very fond of it. I like mascaras that separate lashes, give length and volume, and do not clump. While this mascara may have two out of three of my criteria, I just am appalled by the clumping it gives. it is not very flattering on my eyes, so I stay away from it. I've also had better drugstore mascaras in creating dramatic length and volume. The one thing that people love about this is that it holds curl. For me, it does hold curl, but just a little longer than other drugstore mascaras. Would I buy again? I have to say I do want this mascara to work for me, but when it comes down to it, no.
VERY MATTE.
What I like: 1. SMOOTH - this powder is very smooth and silky and feels really good when you put it on. 2. BLENDABLE - It is, for the most part, easy to blend. 3. GOOD COVERAGE - A little goes a long way for this powder. One swoop with the sponge that it comes with and you can cover half your face.
What I don't like: 1. NO COLOR FOR ME - again, it is hard to find products to match my skin color, when it comes down to it, it's all about mixing and matching. 2. CAKEY - this powder gives you a matte finish, so if you want something more natural, I don't suggest purchasing this product.
Would I buy again? 1. No. What I look for in powders is how long it will last me throughout the day. This is not long-lasting.
Nothing Special.
I do not feel that this product gives a healthy glow as it claims. To me, it's just like any loose powder in their line, nothing special about it. I find that it is very drying. I have combination/oily skin and this product dries out even my face, and not the desirable kind of drying. I would not purchase again.
Not For Me.
What I like: 1. LIGHTWEIGHT FORMULA - it is very thin and feels very light on the face, like you're not wearing anything. 2. BLENDABLE - this product does a fairly good job of blending. 3. PUMP!!!! - this product actually comes with a pump which is EXTREMELY useful!
What I DO NOT like: 1. LIGHT COVERAGE - this product is not for someone with acne scars. The product hardly covers and can at most give you medium coverage. 2. NO COLOR MATCH - I find it hard to find a color match for someone with my skin tone. Even though it is blendable, it does not really work for me.
