At Jil Sander’s Fall 2011 fashion show in Milan, Redken Creative Consultant Guido Palau was inspired by classic ’60s culture and created a hairstyle from a wig wrap. “The style is very simple from the front but deceiving as its quite intricate from the back. The clothes look almost futuristic, so ’60s-era hair is a great compliment—the ’60s were a very feminine and liberating time and hair had great shapes,” says Guido.

Divide the top of hair into 3 sections. Take the two side sections and braid 1/3 down and tie off. Criss cross braids and wrap them around themselves in a clockwise pattern securing with pins into a chignon-like base.

Take sections and apply heavy amounts of Redken Hardwear 16 Super Strong Gel and begin wrapping around entire head, keeping the swirls in place with Redken Forceful 23 hairspray.

Keep swirling towards the center of the head until you reach the end of the hair and have covered the base knot completely.

Finish with heavy amounts of Redken Forceful 23 hairspray to hold the style.
