smudges... nice end though.
the end is nice for idiot proof tigh tlining. I like how easy it is.
The formula is a bit watery though, and it doesn't really apply well over makeup, it tends to get clogged up with powder. I have a hard time getting a nice even line, and even when I do, the slightest rub rubs it off. It isn't the slightest bit rub, sweat, or anything proof. I use primer and setting spray and even setting powder sometimes, no luck.
I switched to Nars, I find it works much much much better.
My Holy Grail
MY HOLY GRAIL I also reviewed the Detox formula for full disclosure, because I use both and love them both.
This one is a bit more natural looking (very subtly so) and you can see, if you look very carefully, a faint shimmer from the addition of white gold to the formula. This one also has a higher SPF, and caters more to people with concerns about signs of aging. Detox is aimed more towards people with troubled skin that is sensitive and prone to breaking out. I own and use both, as I said.
I like this ones look a little better, and I do worry about premature aging, with all the fussing I do on my face. This stuff is a one step wonder.
I used to use Laura Mercier's Radiance Primer, and Nars Sheer Glow foundation in Gobi, but no more. I used to wash, treat, treat, tone, moisturize, prime, apply foundation, and then powder, no more. Now I wash, apply BB cream, and go!
This stuff looks better, saves me BIG money, and is beyond amazing. I'm surprised that more people aren't raving about this stuff. Maybe because it is a Korean brand? People keep raving about the US versions of BB cream, which are usually watery, tinted moisturizer-esque products that I've found totally unhelpful. I love the BB Cream from Korea because it's thick, it applies evenly, and blends easily and completely, and it leave my skin feeling amazing and supple too.
I've had SO MANY people compliment me on my complexion since I started wearing it, and I've never gotten compliments like that before. Everyone says the same thing. "Wow, your skin is perfect, how do you do that, it's amazing!" I say that it isn't perfect, I use my BB Cream and it just looks that way. It is truly a miracle product.
Think of it this way:
Laura Mercier Radiance Primer: $35 Nars Foundation: $45 Skin Treatment: anywhere from $30-$200+ Tinted moisturizer: $20-$50 Setting powder: $20
vs.
Dr. Jarts BB Cream: $35
sold.
This stuff is amazing. Give it a try in Sephora. If it matches your skin tone, then pick up a bottle, I promise you will not regret it. If it doesn't match, I'm sorry, you have to continue your search for the perfect foundation. I lucked out. This stuff is beyond amazing. Thank you Dr. Jart!
I'm in love
the quest for a good liner was a long one.
Many couldn't stand up to the amount of makeup I use on my lids, the Too Faced liner tool wasn't useful because it didn't go on with the powder, same for Mac and for the Buxom pen. They where nice on their own, but didn't apply evenly, and all of them would wipe off with the slightest absentminded brush of the hand.
I love this stuff.
Not only does it last forever, through tears, rubbing, rain, sweat, and all day, but it applies beautifully! The long, tail-like brush applies beautifully, and with a slight adjustment becomes rather easy, even for someone who isn't great at applying eyeliner, like me. It is even, nice, doesn't run, doesn't seem to smear, and lasts a long time. I love this stuff. I will never be without it again . Another great product from Nars. <3
It even lasts when I do wings up to my brows. Usually when I do that, the sides get wiped off during the day, but not today! I didn't even have to set my liner (though you always should!) I Just used it with the Benefit 360 Stay don't Stray primer, and used my setting spray on my face, I didn't do my eyes separately, and it still stayed beautifully. I love this stuff it's great.
The colors are nice, I think I'll stick with black though. I like the fun colors from Urban Decay for liners, but the Nars Stylo is a great liquid liner that you shouldn't be without <3

My Holy Grail.
I'm fair, I don't have acne, I'm a mutt so my color scheme is odd. I'm not pink undertoned, like many euro-mutts, I have olive and blue undertones, some yellow. I'm not Asian, but I read about Korea and their BB cream craze. It was makeup and treatment in one, I had to try it.
I have used in the past many primers. Before my go to was Laura Mercier's Radiance Primer with Nars Sheer Glow foundation in Gobi. It left my skin a bit yellow though, a little sallow and lack luster. I perked it up with bronzer and blush, but I don't have to anymore!
I also used to start every morning with wash the fast, skin treatment, more treatment, moisturizer, primer, foundation, powder, then putting everything on. Now all I do is wash my face, and put on my BB cream.
Not only does it look amazing, and match my skin, but it makes my skin look better for wearing it. I notice the Detox formula is slightly more dark, VERY slightly. It blends to match your tone, it's a great formula, but I don't know how it would work on other complexions, if your paler or darker. I've put it on people who had darker complexions, but it didn't blend into them. I should point out also that the Detox formula is more for people with acne prone or sensitive skin, skin prone to breakouts, etc. I don't have that problem, but I do travel a lot in the city and in other gross places full of toxins, so I like to use it to keep my face fresh between days using the Premium. I don't know why I do it, I just like to switch it up. The Premium is more aimed at people who's concern are aging and it's effects on the skin.
The look it gives me is amazing. I have stopped using my foundation and primer all together. The BB Cream makes a perfect base for makeup application. You can layer it to get more coverage. I own both Detox and Premium from Dr. Jarts BB Creams, and I love and use both. I don't go a day without my BB Cream. It is one of my Holy Grail items from my makeup kit that I am never without.
