Hi Livi, how are you doing?
Rozberry told me you are using powder SPF. Do you know of a more or less transparent powder that has broad spectrum SPF 50 or 30?
She also said you use PC BHA gel, is that good? Is it drying? I have very dry skin. What do you think?
Thanks :-)

Hello, I'm doing great. How about you? I do use a powder spf but it is not SPF 30 or 50. I was previously using pur minerals spf 15 but now I'm using bare minerals ready foundation spf 20. That's not solely my spf product though, I use an spf 30 moisturizer by Paula's choice in her calm line. It's amazing and I love it.

I currently use BHA liquid 2% twice a week all over face, but some other times I spot treat with BHA 9 and that is a gel version. It's 9% but since it's a gel it's less drying than the 2%. It doesn't absorb very fast though and I'm still on trial and will get back to you later. The BHA 9'feels much more moisturizing since it's a gel. The BHA 9 is not intended for all over use but for spot treating. I have not used the BHA 2% gel or 1% or anything like that, just the liquid 2%.

Hi Livi,

thanks you very much for your answer.

I'm not doing that great unfortunately :-( I got very ill at the end of April and it's going to take very long for me to heal. So I try to treat myself with nice skincare or whatever I enjoy so I keep my moods high.

I guess I will skip the powder SPF then. I really need SPF 50 (or 30 for touch-ups) because I have vitiligo on the face and I can't let that skin burn!

I understand PC doesn't carry physical sunblocks, is that right? The one you use, is it matte? It goes well under makeup I guess?

Regarding the BHA, I rarely have spots so I guess I should try the BHA 2% gel. The 9% will be too much. I only have clogged pores that I need to treat once every two weeks or so. I guess it is better to go with the 2% so it really unclogs those pores, otherwise I might have to use it too often.

Cheers!

So sorry you're not doing well hope you get better soon! I only use physical sunblocks because I'm sensitive to chemical ones. The one by PC that I use is mineral sunblock with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. It is SPF 30, and the one I use is the calm line for combo oily BUT it is not dry at all and it's especially moisturizing for my type of skin. Oily skin people doesn't like this one very much because it is not matte. I don't really have combo oily anymore more so normal and it's perfect. They also have one for normal to dry skin as well and I imagine it to be much more moisturizing than the one I use.

Also, yes I use this as my sunblock and my primer. I don't use makeup primer anymore because this one does so well!

I was researching about spf numbers and even though spf30 and SPF50 seems like a great deal difference but it's really not. That's why I use powder touch ups with spf20 throughout the day. Unless you're sweating or going swimming the mineral sunblock moisturizer will stay put. I hope you find a good powder with at least spf30 and I also notice that physical sunblock usually goes up to spf30 I'm sure there are some that are higher but that would mean it will be more drying.

Hey. Thanks for the heads up on the Paula's Body Retinol. I got a discount and the exfoliating products are 20 percent off. Also, there is an offer for her acne kit starter set for $13, which I picked up for a friend to try. I also grabbed sunscreen. The Resist was Buy one Get one when you activated a code. I found those promos on RetailMeNot, so that saved some serious coinage. Okay..I'm off to try and find your blog subscription option via the laptop! Love ya and have a great week!  :)

Aw you're too sweet! well most of the flawlessness that you see is makeup lol. Also, lighting tends to wash out imperfections as well. I have dark undereyes, blemishes, and pores that I wish were smaller :)

I'm very acne prone and sensitive so I like to keep my face makeup minimal. I don't wear makeup everyday, and if I do wear makeup I wear powder foundation. I leave my liquid for special events. I also take the time every morning and night to wash, tone, and moisturize!
