--I will show you how to draft a fitted bodice on paper in the future. I personally like draping because the fit is so much more accurate. Every designer has a different method.

Duct Tape Form:
I learned how to do this in a 4 hour class setting (took about 2-3 classes to get the perfect pattern). The fact that I squeezed this into a video that is less than 15 minutes is sort of a miracle. If you don't understand the video the first time, please feel free to pause and repeat as many times as you need. It can be hard to understand draping in a class room setting, so I can understand that it might be even harder on camera.
To perfect our pattern, we actually cut it out and sew onto fabric and tried on the finished product. If it fits yay!! If it needed adjustments, we tried it on inside out and pinched along the areas that needed fixing and pinned. We retraced the line and drew in new allowances. Then we cut out the pattern and tried it again.
I tried my best to water this down and also keep it as accurate as possible. If you have been taught a different way..please make a video and respond it to this video. It would greatly help me and many others out!
-When you have the finalized pattern, you can trace it onto paper or staple it onto a heavier weight paper.
-I am using plain white muslin for draping. No stretch! I used about 1/2 a yd of 60" width. Cost me about $1.00
-The pattern I used for my dress was actually draped and pinned to a really tight t-shirt I was wearing that day. So it is possible to do it on yourself. Have a good friend do it for you.
