Chinese New year is coming up on the 10th of Feb This year. Even if you don't celebrate it, it's still a pretty fun and festive holiday. Here in Australia, we have Floating dragons, lion dances, drums and firecrackers going on all around China Town and the street foods are probably one of highlights that attracts people to go ever year. If you have been to a chinese new year festival in your country, Let me know in the comments what are some of your favourite memories from it. In Previous years I have done a Prosperity fish and a chinese lantern Design which used festive colors like reds and golds. This year I thought I would do something a little different and it came out looking like a China Pattern.
As Always Apply base coat and base color and let it completely dry before moving on. I'll be using an image from the XL Image Plate C available on my website to do this design. The XL Plates images are quite big as you can see. Which suits really well for longer nails, but you can still make use of it on shorter nails as well. First apply Special Stamping polish over the design, Scraper off excess polish using the scraper, then transfer the image using the stamper, check the image, and scrape off unwanted parts of the design. Then aim and roll it over the nail.
You can use nail polish remover to clean the plate, stamper and scraper between each stamp. Then repeat steps for the remaining nails. Here I tried it on a fake nail to show you how it would look like on a longer nail.
Once all your fingers are stamped. Use a qtip soaked in polish remover to clean around the nail.
Now grab a mint color nail polish and color in the section above the print. Then pick a complimentary color for the bottom area, you can color in using a detail brush for a more precise application.
To add the decorations, apply top coat as adhesive to areas as needed. Then place the decals and press down to secure. Once your done, apply top coat for a lasting finish.
