I am really excited to watch the film 'The Great Gatsby'. I can barely contain myself especially with Baz Luhrmann directing. His films all look so aesthetically amazing.
So after watching the trailer a dozen times I just had to to make an inspired makeup tutorial from this era.
The character I want to refer to is Jordan Baker played by Elizabeth Debicki as she has a classic flapper look and similar hair to myself although it is shorter.
Remember though it is an inspired look so its worth checking out some original references and icons from the roaring twenties such as 'IT' girl Clara Bow and Louise Brooks.
I also found this site that has great photos/posters.

Key elements:
Beautifully thin, dark curved and sloping downwards or straight long brows- please do not over pluck your brow to achieve this unless you decide this is your shape forever!
Smokey eyes- heavily lined. Usually dark grey or other trends include turquoise or greens. Bring the colour fading up to the brow and leaving the water line for big doe- eyed effect.
Defined cupid bow top lip with slight exaggerated bottom lip even in brownish reds, plums or for later fashion trend rose, raspberry and orange. If you want to make those lips more like the 20s bring in the lip colour in at the edges so it less wide.
Rouge for the cheeks well blended.
Then to finish the overall look adorn yourself with any 20s inspired accessories and jewellery.
Products I used:
