After 50, I've learned to be comfortable in my own skin. Once you realize this is as good as it's ever going to get, you learn to except yourself, flaws and all, and make the best of it. With a little makeup and a few good classic basics, you can make the best of it with confidence. Confidence didn't always come easy for me, but I think acceptance of yourself comes with age. There are always things we don't like about our appearance, but, with age, we learn that we're not alone in feeling that way. I hope this helps at least one person realize that beauty really comes from within. All the makeup in the world doesn't mask an ugly heart. It all starts inside and eventually works it's way out. It sometimes takes a long time till you find your "look" where you feel better than you ever have about yourself. I went through a lot of phases, and now I look back and wonder what I was thinking. Bad perms, Mom jeans, awkward years, and I think I've finally said "Hey Colleen, you're 58! Just relax and go with it"! It's a crazy ride, this thing called life, but the main thing to remember is do what makes you happy and enjoy yourself! DON'T take yourself too seriously! Learn to laugh at yourself! Have at least one good belly-laugh a day, even if it's laughing at your dog's little funny quirks! A smile is the best makeup you can put on, and it makes everyone around you smile, too! Last of all, look forward to the advantages of your "Golden years"; grandchildren, senior citizen discounts everywhere, and having the time you didn't have when you were younger because you were too busy making a life that you were too busy to enjoy! TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH NOW, YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID WHEN YOU GET OLDER! Thanks for watching!! Hugs, Colleen xox :)
