I love using the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear polishes for water marble nail art. In this video, I'm using the following colors:

Sally Hansen Twisted Pink
Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow
Sally Hansen Blue Me Away
Sally Hansen Sun Kissed

Directions:

1. Apply a base color of your choice. I find that a "white" base helps the colors to stand out, just like if you were using an eyeshadow base. I used Essie Marshmallow for my base.

2. Apply tape to the sides and base of each nail. This helps reduce how much polish gets on your hands, making it easier for clean up.

3. Add room temperature water to a cup/bowl.

4. Adding one drop at a time, add your polish to the center of the cup/bowl, kind of like a bullseye. It's up to you how many times you do this. I find that 2 rounds of colors gives me the look I like. Experiment and find out what you like best.

5. Take a toothpick, needle, or something sharp and draw a design in the polish. I couldn't find a toothpick so I used a hair pin! Remember, experiment with what you find desirable.

6. Find the best design in the cup/bowl and dip your finger in.

7. While your finger is submerged in the cup/bowl, take a q-tip and swirl it around, picking up the excess polish from the top of the water. When we remove our finger, we don't want to pick up any extra polish and mess up our design.

8. Carefully remove your finger from the cup/bowl.

9. Carefully cut the tape off (I like to cut from underneath my finger) and remove it.

10. Take some pure acetone (what I prefer) or nail polish remover and a brush to clean up around the edges of your nail.

11. Once dry, apply your favorite top coat. I used Revlon Extra life No Chip Top Coat in this video.

And that's it. Repeat for as many fingers as you'd like!
