The idea for the Navy manicure arose because I have a friend who is in the Navy and I told him a while ago that I would do nail art based off of the Navy Work Uniform. However, creating the design of the Army Combat Uniform is centered around my brother.
Only a few days ago, my brother went to MEPS and signed a contract with the Army. It's only a few months until he leaves for boot camp and I'm dreading it. In April he told me that he wanted to join the Army and I wasn't happy about it at all. With some convincing he then settled on joining the Navy, an idea that didn't sound as bad. Though in what seemed like a blink of an eye, he changed his mind back. I have nothing against the Army and I respect every branch of the military, my issue here is that my brother, my best friend, is putting himself in danger and there's nothing I can do about it. To make matters worse, he's joining Infantry and going into training to be an Airborne Ranger. Quite frankly, the idea of this sucks to me. Since my Dad's passing, I've always thought of my brother as the only part of him that I have left, and now I feel as if I'm losing that too. Although I'm not happy about it, I have to support him. He's always supported me and he needs it now more than ever. Despite me disagreeing and knowing I'll miss him more than I can explain, I want him to know I'm here. I support you, Tyler.
