In this video, I will show you how I made my OWN Tabletop softbox. I learned how to do this from Naohms here on youtube. These things are sold on Amazon for a little over $40 and I made mine for under $15! I had so much fun doing this DIY tutorial. Please "like" this video if you want MORE DIY's!! Things you'll need:
-A BOX
-3 white posterboard
-BIG scissors
-Glue
-A ruler
Instructions: (Watch in conjunction w/ video)
1. Cut off the top part of the box
2. Cut off the flaps of the box
3. Measure the height (H) and length (L) of the box - ADD 3" to the (H) and 4" to the (L) of the box. Example: My (H) 10.5"+3"=13.5" and my (L) 17.5"+4"=21.5"
4. Measure and Cut Posterboard (H)x(L) - measurements vary based on your box
5. Fold Poster board 2" from bottom of the height. Fold it in 2" on either side of the length. CUT out the residual squares on the bottom corners.
6. Glue the Posterboard to the back of your box.
7. Measure Width (W) of the box and add 0.25" to that measurement. Cut TWO pieces of (W)x4". Fold these pieces lengthwise and glue them to the parallel edges of your box.
These will cover the edges so that none of the box is showing when you finish your softbox.
8. Cut out the (L)x(W) on posterboard and paste to the bottom of the box. No need to add any additional inches to this piece.
9. Cut out (W)x(H) - You will need two of these. So once you've measured and cut out the first piece, just trace it onto another poster board and cut it out. Glue the pieces on either side of the box.
10. Wait for everything to dry and you're done!
