First, I'd like to tell you that flat iron build-up is normal. Some get it and some don't. I use A LOT of heat protectant along with hair serums and If I decided to do a curl or I need a little touch up from my straightener, Hairspray, Heat tamers will get on your flatirons and curling irons. It's important to keep these clean after every use to insure your hair tools last for a long time and to make sure your hair doesn't get old product which causes bacteria!

I've been cleaning my flat irons like this for a while now and I find it gentle, effective and removes germs from the plates.
You can also take a damp cloth with water after using the Hydrogen and peroxide to insure the tools are extra clean.

*Disclaimer: I clean my heat tools after every single use and my flat irons/curling tools DO NOT get gross like this. This was left for the sake of the video to show you how easy the solution gets rid of the build up. It was even hard for me to leave it like that for a day!

Precision Tip Q-tips/regular Q-tips
Cotton rounds
A damp towel (Water)
