That's why I came up with this DIY treatment.
This isn't really a hot oil treatment, but more like a warm oil treatment!
It's so easy to do and why shouldn't you take a few minutes to nourish and pamper yourself and your hair?
After using olive oil to remove my eye makeup and discovering my eyelashes had grown stronger and longer (yes!) I decided to see what it could do for my hair.
Here's what you need:
Olive oil (organic, preferred, but not necessary as it can be really expensive!)
Plastic wrap
This can be done on clean or dirty hair- I usually don't do it when my hair is clean because I am just going to wash it again after the treatment anyway.
Just pour some olive oil in your hands and apply to hair, working from roots to ends. You do not need to saturate the hair because it'll end up really oily after you shampoo.
Take a few sheets of plastic wrap and wrap your head tightly. This is where the heat comes in! We don't heat the oil at all so as not to lose any of the nutrients. Your body heat does the work. The plastic wrap helps seal your body heat in and allows the oil to penetrate more deeply into the hair.
You can also put the oil directly on your face too!
Leave on from 30-45 minutes. The longer you leave it, the more conditioned and soft your hair will be.
Remove the plastic wrap , get in the shower, rinse thoroughly, shampoo (twice, if needed) and condition hair. While you're at it, go for some body scrub too!
After your hair dries, it will be soft and shiny!
Check out my before and after pics!
Wasn't that easy?
