Low self-esteem is something that should be taken more serious in today's world. I'm sure you at least know someone that's had or experienced low confidence, and if not, it was maybe you!

Poem starts @1:56
Here's the poem:
Society tells me i'm ugly because I don't look like Beyonce or Rihanna.
So I tell myself to shine and don't let nothin' else stop ya
see, I'm not easily influenced by the foolishness of billboards and magazines
I'm more interested in having the finer things.
But that's a different poem I got a little off topic
I wrote this poem for the girls who feel uglier than two pennies rubbing together in a broke man's pocket.
I know you heard it all before, so I'm not gonna say "you're beautiful because your personality"
I'm gonna tell you like i'd tell my child, non sugar coated, but in the form of reality.
don't let no one influence your life or your well being
that's giving that person the benefit of the doubt, basically the upper hand
and that hand is strong enough to slap you down and unable to stand...
on your own two,
now you're ballin' your eyes out, contemplating on what to do
and this quote on quote "king" took all your energy and used it against you.
I'm only telling you this because I got love for you.
Holding down the title of being a strong African american female I expect more from you.
If no one taught you confidence I feel like its my priority to give you a lesson.
Confidence is not paid for, it's something you gain
it's more visible than white pants attracted to a grass stain.
Breath in and breath out, I know it's a lot to take in.
Always remember the first step to confidence is to find love within.
