After almost losing our beloved dog, Quigley, over the weekend, he spent 2 nights at the vet with an IV to flush his kidneys with fluids. He was in renal failure. The fluid flush worked and got his levels back to within normal range. He's now on a kidney diet, low in proteins for the rest of his life. The vet said this has probably been coming on for some time, and presents itself with vomiting and diarrhea, which he had all weekend when the vets were closed. We took him in on Monday morning and thank goodness they were able to keep it maintained at stage 2, because otherwise it would have meant dialysis or in the final stage, euthanasia. The vet called us with miraculous news yesterday. His levels were all back within normal range and we were able to come get him and take him home. He is doing well and expected to live a normal life with just a change in diet and blood tests now and then to make sure his levels remain normal. Thank you for all your well wishes and prayers.
