Other tips (not mentioned in the video) to avoid hackers and scams:
1. If you get an email from YouTube, your bank, etc. asking you to click a link to sign in to your account so a problem can be resolved - do not do it! Instead directly go to the site in question by typing in the sites home page URL or by going through your bookmarks. If you still need to log in to change information, then it was legitimate. If everything appears to be in order, the email was a scam to get your account information.
2. Limit who you share your information with. I have shared my information before, my boyfriend knows all of my information and I know all of his... but that's it. Be weary. Especially of sharing your Social Security number and bank information.
I know a girl who shared their account information with a friend and her social media profiles were manipulated by the friend she trusted. They switched all of her information to be very derogatory. Be careful with who you trust!
3. Keep all of your passwords as a combination of letters (capital and lowercase), numbers, and/or symbols. Keep it as elaborate as possible, as long as you can remember it of course. Have several passwords, not just one. This is so if your information is compromised for one account, it won't be for all.
4. Do not do passwords involving your pets name, spouses name, or birthday. Those tend to be the first thing a hacker will guess. Sometimes a hacker will be people you personally know, so they most likely know your pets name, etc.
