I particularly like this method when I want to put liquids on my face but don't want to mix it with yogurt or some kind of thickener. I like to just take off this mask and not have to wash my face after wards to just let my face soak in the goodness. I find that masks that harden on your face are more abrasive and take a lot longer to wash if you to don't want to peel off dry bits. So yeah :D

I imagine there will be some reservations about "re-using" as mask as it may have bacteria/dirt from your last use. However, I think boiling the mask is kills most if not all the bacteria anyway and I have never had problems with this. Also it's not like you used the mask on a dirty face in the first place right ^0^?
My favorite mask possibilities:
Winter: honey + coffee + sugar, tumeric + honey + black tea (I don't drink this haha), milk + sugar
Summer: (refrigerated) green tea + lemon + mint, lemon + aloe vera + cucumber juice + tomato
Acne: lemon + tea tree + honey + green tea, tomato + aloe vera + green tea + olive oil
