Mele (meh-lay) / song: Kananaka (cuh-nuh-nuh-cuh) Hawaiian Mermaid
Hawaiians long ago believed we had a sea serpent or a beautiful Goddess with fins swimming in the ocean. Which now becomes our Mythology. Stories of long ago says This story tells how Kananaka (Hawaiian Mermaid) lived in this seaweed. Her hair was long like seaweed. Every night Kananaka would fall in love with the beautiful moon glistening over the ocean.
As the story goes on this is the story of the Hawaiian Mermaid. A perfect sit down or standing hula for little girls.
