If you look on the amazing www.makeupalley.com you'll see that MAC foundations get the most amount of views - which is why they tend to get the most about of criticism with regard to breakouts! Believe me its not that MAC foundations are bad or are more prone to making you breakout - its just that so many bloody people try MAC! lol

Something worth mentioning - while people have had breakouts from foundations the one foundation that i've not heard anyone of my clients ever complain about (re breakouts) is MAC Full Coverage Foundation. Strange as this is a very thick wax like formula - but worth mentioning as its a favorite of mine.

The following foundations i've mentioned below are the ones that i've not had clients complain about re - breakouts.

Non-comedogenic or "Won't clog pores"
Why it's meaningless: You can't trust any product that makes claims of being non-comedogenic (or the less common "non-acnegenic") because there are no approved or regulated standards for these statements anywhere in the world. In other words, no matter what a product contains, a company can claim that it won't make you break out, even if it contains ingredients that are known to trigger breakouts. With no guidelines or standards in place, even the thickest, greasiest moisturizer around can claim it "won't clog pores."
And forget the claim "oil-free"! There are lots of ingredients that can make skin feel greasy that aren't listed as oils.

How to Find Products That Won't Cause Blemishes
Anyone with blemish-prone skin has probably used lots of skin-care products, only to find that the products make them break out, either immediately or shortly after they start using them. That's incredibly frustrating! You're hoping a product will work for you and it just causes more problems! Keep reading to learn why this happens and what you can do to prevent it, or at least minimize it.

Everything I Use Causes Breakouts!
Why does it seem nearly impossible to find products that won't cause breakouts? Because lots of products, even those claiming to be suitable, or even beneficial, for acne, oily skin, or blemish-prone skin, actually contain ingredients that can trigger breakouts. That's not fair, we agree with you, but it's true, and many of us know this from experience.
So, how can you tell if a product will cause your skin to break out with pimples or blackheads? Unfortunately, most people find it difficult, if not impossible, to differentiate between the products or ingredients that increase blemishes and those that do not. That's where we can help you save your skin and your money!

Isn't There a List of Ingredients That Cause Breakouts?
There is a great deal of evidence that specific ingredients can trigger breakouts and there also are lists of pore-clogging ingredients. However, the analysis of any ingredient with regard to breakouts rarely takes into account ingredient's concentration in a product or how that ingredient interacts with other ingredients. For example, a teeny amount of an ingredient in a skin-care product isn't the same as a 100% concentration used in lab tests. Plus, there are thousands of cosmetic ingredients to consider, and the lists you may have seen on the Internet never examine the whole picture.
