This is great. I go to alot of festivals so this is perfect for it. Thank you! I'm not finding the video on how to remove them.... not to be pushing but could you please post one, that's the only issue I have with doing these. Thanks. Cheers!

That's a lot of unnecessary work. I've had the real deal dreadlocks and just recently brushed them out. You can get the same "temp" look, by simply twisting your hair tight, and using a flat iron. It'll stay, even after sleeping on it. You can skip the spray and wax entirely, as well as the braiding and backcombing.

I'm sorry, but this style of dreadlock will in no way stay in if you don't use backcombing and product. Merely twisting your hair and using a flat iron will not work, the hair will just unravel within minutes! (Unless you're talking about using the neglect technique where you allow you hair to get dirty and tangled and basically become its own styling product, in which case the dreads would not be temporary.)
Backcombing not only provides the texture and the body for the dreadlocks, but is necessary to keep them in place. Just like when you want volume in your hair. If you blow-dry your hair with loads of lift at the root, that's only a temporary effect that's going to last about ten minutes before it drops. You would use backcombing and hairspray to keep it in place.
Backcombing goes against the direction of the cuticle cells on your hair and raises them, meaning that the cuticles can interlock with the cuticles on the other strands of hair, therefore keeping the style in place. The product then helps it stay longer.

Ma'am, I have twisted my hair, and used a flat iron, and it stayed for over 24hours. I know what backcombing is, as well. That is used in making REAL dreadlocks. I was just saying, from my own experience, with my own hair, this doesn't need spray or wax.

And I would never use the neglect technique, even for legitimate dreads because that is both unsanitary and makes your hair form mats, not cylinders.
And even with real dreadlocks, they can be brushed out within a year and six months. I have had them.
