This week's episode of Thrifty Thursday: DIY Ombre Shorts.. My shorts were pink but you could use any colour or even plain old blue denim! I had a ton of fun making these and I would advise you to be patient! I know there are a ton of ombre tutorials here on YouTube, so this was more of an experiment for me than something truly helpful! But nonetheless, I hope it inspires you to raid your wardrobe and transform old clothes into something on trend and fabulous :)

This entire project cost me less than €1.50 to create! I already had the shorts and just had to buy some super-cheap bleach! Yay!
xx
Instructions:
1. Fill basin with one bottle of thick bleach and dilute with 1 litre of warm water (not boiling, you don't want to scald your hands!)
2. Dip Shorts in halfway to the bleach, with whatever side you want to be lightest in the bleach. I wanted the top of the shorts to be lightest, so I placed them in top-down.
3. Soak for 45mins-1 hour.
4. Rinse shorts in the sink under warm water (remember to wear gloves!)
5. Place shorts back in the bleach, but only cover about a third or however much you want to be the lightest colour.
6. Soak for up to 2 hours. Be patient with this part, you can take them out at hour intervals to rinse and see the progress if you like.
7. When your shorts are looking good, chuck them in a short wash in your washing machine by themselves and either tumble-dry or let air dry!
Ready to rock! Enjoy :)
