Sharing the benefits of my staple deep conditioner/protein/moisturizing treatment from Butters N' Bars: The Conditioning Hair Masque

Instructions for Application:
1) Pre-poo hair (optional but I never skip this step. See below for a link to a video sharing how I pre-poo and finger detangle.
2) Shampoo hair with a sulfate free shampoo
3) Dry hair slightly with an old T-shirt or paper towel to absorb excess water but leave some water in the hair to allow for smooth application of the hair masque. This masque is very thick. I don't use towels or even micro-fiber material because it acts like a magnet toward the hair, ripping at it.
4) Scoop out a dollop sized amount of the masque and apply generous to the areas of your hair that are the most fragile. Then scoop out as much as need and apply to the rest of the hair working from the ends up. Alternatively, you can section your hair in 4 to apply the product. I don't work it through that meticulously because once I don my plastic cap and sit under my hooded dryer, the product will distribute throughout the hair.
5) Stuff hair under a plastic cap. If you have too much hair to fit under a plastic cap, clip it up with a butterfly clamp first.
6) Optional but recommended: Sit under a source of heat for a minimum of 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can wear the plastic cap for several hours before rinsing hair clean. I prefer the former as the heat allows the hair mask to penetrate each strand of hair more effectively.
7) Allow hair to cool before rinsing
8) Rinse the mask out of your hair with cool water
9) Apply your favorite detangling wash out conditioner and proceed to finger detangle (alternatively, you can use a large tooth comb. I prefer finger detangling) hair.
10) Do not rinse out the wash out conditioner yet. Seal in the nutrients of that conditioner by applying a hair rinse (I use Aubrey Organics Green Tea Cream Rinse) that has been diluted in an applicator bottle with 2 parts water. This helps to also reduce frizz and adds additional shine to your hair.
11) Rinse hair with cool water while proceeding to further detangle if necessary. Smooth hair downwards while rinsing.

Answers to questions you may have about the video and/or hair masque:
1) It may appear that I don't have the hair masque worked throughout my hair but I do. I concentrate more of the mask on sections (particular the center/crown area) of my hair that tend to be the driest and grow the slowest.
2) Heat is not required to reap the benefits of this hair mask but it is recommended. Applying heat to your hair causes the hair shaft to swell open so that the nutrients are more readily absorbed into the hair.
A Little More About My Hair and Other Products I Use:
I've been natural for roughly 7 years and the only reason I truly stopped relaxing is I noticed that thinning hair runs in my family. Everyone I know of in my family that has thin hair relaxed their hair religiously. I do not plan to help along the process of thinning hair.
I use mostly all natural products in my hair for the exception of my cheapie wash out conditioner. My wash out conditioner of choice is Dove Nutritive Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner or Dove Damage Therapy Moisturizing Conditioner.
I use only one oil to seal my hair, Jojoba oil. It's very light which is optimal for fine hair like mine.
My hair is cut in layers to exaggerate its fullness. Having fine hair, that's a necessity if you want full looking hair. My longest length is 15 inches in the back and my shortest length is 10 inches at the crown. It's my goal to achieve waist length hair by end of 2013.
The purpose for growing my hair length is two-fold:
* God blessed me with a wonderful crown and glory. I'd love to see it's potential
* I just want to see if I really got it like that LOL
